It's important to note when Google indexes these jump links and displays them in SERPs, they’re
               indexing the hyperlink itself, not the jump link ID or page title. Meaning the link displayed in
               SERPs is the link to the anchor text used in the table of contents. This leads us to believe that
               TOC jump links themselves do NOT help with rankings!

































               The links themselves can increase indexing and possibly provide a richer SERP result, but the
               impact on rankings is likely due to the content within the TOC hyperlinks, not the jump link
               themselves. This would explain why our heading started to be tested in SERPs - on-page
               references doubled and the terms started to appear at the very top of the page. It could also
