THE EUROPEAN DIGITAL COMPETENCE FRAMEWORK FOR
CITIZENS (DIGCOMP)
The European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp) is a
reference framework developed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the
European Commission. It aims:
- to support the development of digital competence of individuals in Europe;
- to help policymakers formulate policies that support digital competence in
the sphere of employment, education and training, and lifelong learning
initiatives.
It comprises 5 competences:
- Information and data literacy;
- Communication and collaboration;
- Digital content creation;
- Safety;
- Problem solving.
