MEDIA ACCESS COMPETENCES IN EDUCATION

Accessing digital technology in the classroom can:

- help and teach students to compose and organize ideas on screen;

- support learners’ knowledge with various semiotic resources of different modes and media;

- support students in negotiating, designing, producing “writing strategies” such as planning, editing and
proofreading of texts.

NB! Although more than 80 % of young people in Europe use the internet for social activities, the use of technology
for educational purposes still lags behind.
