EXAMPLES OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WHERE MEDIA LITERACY IS INCLUDED AT CURRICULUM

In Finland, Hungary and the Czech Republic,
national framework curricula determine the ML to
be taught in relation to media education, with
some degree of flexibility for schools.
In Germany, the concept of ‘media competence’ is
mainly understood as technical media competence
in non-educational contexts. Within educational
contexts, it refers to “the ability and the willingness
to deal with media in an adequate, autonomous,
creative and socially responsible way.
