mus.: Edward Grieg - "In the cave of the mountain king"
In this scene there is a boy in a modest disguise as a Shoemaker and
a boy in disguise of a Dragon. They both move in accordance with
the rhythm and character of the music.
A prop was used here - a plush sheep. The opening fragment of the
piece begins in piano dynamics, with predominantly staccato
articulation (Szewczyk prepares an ambush for the Dragon against
the background of the above music).
There is a change in dynamics - a crescendo to forte fortissimo
dynamics (the Dragon's reaction after eating a sulfur-filled sheep is
shown here). The expressive accents in the piece, expressed in
movement by Szewczyk and Dragon, are clearly marked.
