The Apostles and disciples continued the teachings of Jesus Christ,
and Christianity spread throughout the world. Many people were killed
because of their faith in Jesus. They would rather suffer and die, than to
renounce their Christianity.
Today, as disciples of Jesus, we must live as He taught us by
His words and examples even when His teachings are difficult to follow.
As Christians we are called to forgive those whose cause us harm and
to pray for them. Jesus is asking us to be humble and obedient. He is
asking us to give of ourselves unselfishly to others.
Living our Catholic faith means to not only follow God’s
Commandments, but to give up everything and follow Christ even on to
death. It is this gift of faith that allows us to surrender our lives to Jesus
so we, in turn, have something to live for. The real meaning of life is that
we were made to love and serve the Lord and be with God for eternity.
