T he First Noel

1. The first Noel the angel did say

2. They looked up and saw a star
3. And by the light of that same star

4. This star drew nigh to the north west,

5. Then entered in those wise men three
6. Then Let us all with one accord

1. Was to certain poor shepherds In fields as they lay;

2. Shining in the east beyond them far,
3. Three wise men came from country far;

4. O’er Bethlehem it took it rest,

5. Full reverently upon their knee,
6. Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;

1. In fields as they lay, keeping their sheep,

2. And to the earth it gave great light,

3. To seek for a king was their intent,
4. And there it did both stop and stay

5. And offered there in his presence

1. On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

2. And so it continued both day and night.
3. And to follow the star wherever it went.

4. Right over the place where Jesus lay.

5. Their gold, and myrrh, and frankincense.
6. .And with his blood mankind hath bought.
