Prize Fancy has gotten nine winners, includ- ing 2014 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity-RG3 winner Ima A Fancy PYC, stakes-placed PYC First Prize Fany, and First Fancy Prize, second in this year’s Firecracker Futurity-G2 at Delta Downs.
The second dam, Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash, is a full sister to World Champion and Champion sire First Down Dash. First Prize Dash produced Grade 1 winners First Prize Leesa, First Carolina, First Prize Robin, and Fast First Prize, as well as two other stakes winners.
After Parsons purchased Fast N Fancy, he put her in the 2014 Heritage Place yearling sale through Lazy E Ranch LLC as agent.
“I had mixed emotions about what I wanted to do with her,” he said. “She didn’t bring what I wanted her to bring, so I kept her. It worked out pretty well.”
Listed as a $40,000 repurchase, Fast N Fancy has subsequently repaid Parsons much more than that. The Speedhorse first prize alone was worth $70,133.
At Remington Park earlier this year, Fast N Fancy ran second in a maiden race and fifth in a trial for the Heritage Place Futurity-G1.
“The first two times she got in a little bit of trouble in the gates and didn’t get away good,” Parsons said. “Sam has thought all along she was going to be a good horse.”
Fast N Fancy proved it in her Speedhorse trial, getting away from the gate better and finishing second by just a head to VF Floosie.
Though Fast N Fancy is eligible to the All American Futurity-G1, she may not run again until next year.
“I don’t think I’m going to race her again as a 2 year old,” Parsons said. “I think I’m just going to turn her out and let her mature. Then she’d be eligible for the big derbies next year.”

in the irons. Brandon Reed trains the filly for owner Dr. Curtis Smith. A winner twice in three starts at Remington, Miss Sammy May ran 2nd in her Speedhorse Futurity trial.
VF Floosie (Foose-Wheely Quick) finished third for jockey G.R. Carter Jr. and trainer Brian Muse. After four starts at Remington with her best effort a third, the Victory Farms’ homebred filly won her Speedhorse Futurity trial.
Completing the field were A Bee C (Apollitical Jess-Hollywood Caliente), Bloomer Ride (PYC Paint Your Wagon-JA Fantasy), Fast Ferdinand (Hez Fast As Cash- Rodeo Moon Girl), Spit Like A Pit (Spit Curl Jess-Fast Prize Corona), Satcha Wagoneer (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Seychelle), Prissy Cartel (Favorite Cartel-Strawfly Sister), and Reason For Roses (Good Reason SA-Long Stemmed Roses).
