Delta Dash
A POLITICAL TOAST

he 4-year-old gelding A Political Toast made his
stakes debut a winning one in his 18th overall start, springing an 11-1 upset in the $26,900 Delta Dash Stakes at Delta Downs on April 29.
With jockey Heriberto Aguilar-Orozco aboard, A Political Toast grabbed the lead away from the starting gate in the 250-yard dash. He dueled with race favorite Diane To Be A Hero down the lane and held that rival safe by just a nose at the wire. In a determined effort, A Political Toast covered the distance in :13.097, earning a 92 speed index for trainer Gilberto Rosales.
Owned by CB Racing Stables, A Political Toast is now a winner of four races from 18 career starts, including three of his last four outings. In addition to his victories, he has placed in seven others and his bankroll stands at $61,370. Bred in Louisiana by Gene Cox, A Political Toast is out of the stakes- placed Toast To Dash mare Princess Toast.
Runner-up Diane To Be A Hero (Valiant Hero- Diane To Paint) just missed under Rolando Cabrera. The 6-5 favorite is owned by Rogelio Marquez Jr. and is conditioned by Jesus Marquez. The gray colt, who is multiple stakes-placed, was bred in Louisiana by Eddie Cramer and Tom or Bill Maher.
Hennessy Xo Tic (The Louisiana Cartel-Xo Kate) drifted a bit late but finished third with Nestor Duran riding for owner and trainer Jorge Haddad. The 4-year-old gelding, who has now hit the board in six of nine starts, was bred in Louisiana by Tate Farms.
Five Bar Miracles (Five Bar Cartel-Expect Miracles TB), PK Sugar Daddy (Sir Runaway Dash- Candie Kisses), KR Apollitical Chick (Apollitical Blood-One Game Chick), Steam Rollyr (Freighttrain B-Jen Tilly), Quorumm (Tres Seis-Apolitical Pac), and Jess Send Fletcher (Ocean Runaway-Jess Send Corona) completed the order of finish. Hold On Hez Fast was scratched.
Jimmy Drake Stakes-RG3
HS GOLDEN EAGLE

S Golden Eagle, racing for Lucina Salas Lopez,
outran her 14-1 odds to win the $100,000 Jimmy Drake Stakes-RG3 at SunRay Park on May 15.
One of four distaffers in the field of 10 New Mexico-breds, HS Golden Eagle covered 400 yards wire-to-wire in :19.589 while posting a 103 speed index, and her margin of victory was a neck over favorite Bigg Dee. Carlos Guillen Chacon rode HS Golden Eagle for trainer Armando Alamos.
HS Golden Eagle was bred by Hubaldo Solis, and the Jimmy Drake Stakes marked her first career start against aged runners. The filly is out of winner Catchtherain TB. She traces back to her third dam, Light Rain, who ran third in the 1995 Meritus Stakes at Aqueduct.
HS Golden Eagle made her sophomore season debut with a second-place finish in the New Mexico Horse Breeders’ Association Stakes-RG2 at Sunland Park. The filly has won three of 11 races, and the $60,000 winner’s share of the purse from her second lifetime stakes score boosted her earnings to $301,048. HS Golden Eagle’s three wins in four outs at
the 400-yard distance include a victory in last year’s New Mexico State Fair Futurity-RG3.
Bigg Dee (Big Daddy Cartel-Miss Woody Dee) was second under Mario Delgado for owner Rex Wells and trainer James Gonzales III. Cowboy Zulu (Zulu Dragon-First Cowgirl Flash) finished third under Agustin Silva for owners Chuck Sonnenberg and Fred Danley, who also trained Cowboy Zulu.
A Flashin Blu (First Moonflash-Blazin Blu), EZ On My Mind (Genuine Strawfly-Shirleys Honor), Mr Yin Yang (Perry Tee Chick-Jets On Call), Fly On Down (One Handsome Man-Never The Same), Blazinberryberryfast (Osbaldo-Strawberryberryfast), El Tarasco 727 (Heza Motor Scooter-Hawaii Calls), and Holland Rock (Rock Solid Jess-Holland Fire) completed the order of finish.
Four Corners Futurity

secured their first stakes victory with a dead- heat finish in the $75,000 Four Corners Futurity at SunRay Park on May 22.
Mr Red White N Blue broke on top with KJ Wicked Wanda close behind. The two dueled through- out, crossing the wire a nose in front to share the win. With Christian Ramos aboard Mr Red White N Blue and Adrian Ramos aboard KJ Wicked Wanda, the teams completed the 350 yartds in :17.474.
Trained by James Gonzales III, Mr Red White N Blue’s $30,000 share of the purse boosted his total earn- ings to $31,100 for owner Triple R Racing Stables LLC. Trained by Wesley Giles, KJ Wicked Wanda’s $30,000 share of the purse boosted her earnings to $33,430 for owners John & Wanda Lee and Ruben & Kathy Mares.
La Brujita Mayor (EC Jet One-Symphonic)
was third and was follwed by Million Air Eagle (This Is An Eagle-Coronas Hot Girl), Lake Havasu (Seperate Interest-No Arizona), VGK Zigfield Girl (KVN Corona-Zigfield Follies), WR Aces Up (Kiddy Up-WR Red Ace), Brileys Fast Prize (Ajs Fast Dash-Ms Wandas Prize), Restrictions (Seperate Interest-Little Talks) and Everythingyouneed (Jet Black Patriot-Rogue To Riches). One Secret Sister & The Painted Lights scratched.
