FL Lady Bug Stakes-RG3

ockey Juan Pulido had been off some of his
mounts during the Remington Park meet because of an injured hand. But he did just fine aboard Eye On The Card to win the $73,700 May 21 FL Lady Bug Stakes-RG3.
Breaking just a hair slowly in the 330-yard FL Lady Bug, Eye On The Card quickly got rolling. He led by 1-length at the wire in :16.376, not far off the track record of :16.323.
Remington’s leading trainer, Santos Carrizales Jr., saddled Eye On The Card for owner Omar Hernandez. Eye On The Card won his first race and then finished third to two other Carrizales runners in the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity-RG1.
Elfrain Mendez bred Eye On The Card in Oklahoma from Johns Party Girl, winner of the 2003 Fair Meadows Belles Stakes. The mare has produced eight winners in 11 starters, including stakes winners Saratoga Return and EM High Country and stakes-placed Granite Party Time.
Relentless Scorpion (Hes Relentless-Pollitical Scorpion) finished second under jockey Justine Klaiber. Eddie D. Willis trains the filly for the Wishbone Partnership. Relentless Scorpion won the Laico Bird Stakes-RG3 in her previous start.
Paul Nieto rode Cuz He Gone (Capo De Capi- Eye Mongoose) to third for owner Miguel Mendoza and trainer Jesus Ruiz. Cuz He Gone had won his two prior races.
Completing the field were Pevs Cherokee Kid (Hes Relentless-Ima Lazie Too), Sir James (Coronado Cartel-Simply An Angel), Capis Renegade (Capo
De Capi-Dqs Chew Chew), Eye North (Eyesa Cashing Teller-Fed Cartel), BV Dont Look Back (Dominyun-BV Valentine Wagon), and The Jesse James (The Wranglers Image-Jess A Valentine). JC Black Mamba was scratched.

m A Fancee Chik likes Remington Park, as all
three of her stakes wins have come there. Last year Im A Fancee Chik captured the Laico Bird Stakes-RG3 and FL Lady Bug Stakes-RG3, and most recently she scored in the May 21 Jack Brooks Stakes-RG3.
Ridden by Mario Delgado, Im A Fancee Chik broke inwardly from the outside post. She made up ground late in the 350 yards to grab the win by a neck in :17.312.
Clinton Crawford trains Im A Fancee Chik
for owners Danny and Dennis Salisbury. Danny bred Im A Fancee Chik in Oklahoma from the winning Thoroughbred mare Dixie Marrone, an earner of $118,941 and a daughter of Thoroughbred Champion Sprinter Smoke Glacken.
Dixie Marrone has produced five winners in six starters. Im A Fancee Chik is the mare’s first Quarter Horse, followed by 2-year-old Docs Best Bud, who has started twice but hasn’t yet won.
Pevs Jukebox (FDD Dynasty-Ima Lazie Too), ridden by Cristian Esqueda, owned by Regina Laymon, and trained by Jerry Livingston, finished second. The gelding placed in three previous stakes, two of them Graded.
Jimmy Brooks piloted Just A Kool Boy (Favorite Cartel-Just Eagle) to third for owner Adina Baker and trainer Eddie D. Willis. Just A Kool Boy
was coming off a second in the Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby-RG2.
Completing the field were AJs Tres Of Paint (Apollitical Jess-A Tres Of Paint), LS Jacks Back (Corona Cartel-PJ Chick In Black), B Me (Tres Seis- Glory Rider), Docs Dusty Cartel (Coronado Cartel- Docs Dusty Dale), Paint Your Lips P (Jess Good Candy-Jess Paint Your Lips), EM High Country (Docs Best Card-Johns Party Girl), and El Rubio Corona (Coronado Cartel-Lucky Call Me).

fter the dust settled at the conclusion of the
400-yard $73,400 Boyd Morris Stakes-RG2 at Remington Park on May 21, JK Wildcat Red prevailed by a head in a frantic blanket finish.
With Cristian Esqueda in the irons, JK Wildcat Red grabbed the lead at the start amd was never headed. He was joined in the lane by Charlies Fury and Juice Is Loose and the trio of horses hit the
wire together with JK Wildcat narrowly proving best. Charlies Fury and Juice Is Loose could not be separated and finished in a dead heat for second. The winner’s final time was :19.531 and he earned a 96 speed index. The top three finishers all received a 96 speed index. Race favorite at odds of 6-5, JC Wild King broke in the air as the gates flung open and was never a threat, finishing last in the field of nine.
Owned by Regina Laymon and trained by
Jerry Livingston, JK Wildcat Red with the win improved his record to 40-9-8-4 and the $41,640 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $212,922. Bred in Oklahoma by JK Running Horses LLC, the 7-year-old gelding is out of the Embrujo FG mare Shaky Girl.
Runner-up Charlies Fury (Furyofthewind-Jess Charlena), piloted by Agustin Silva, just missed for owners Tom and Kathleen McNally and trainer Michelle Hurdle.
Juice Is Loose (One Famous Eagle-Miss Southern DD), with Edwin Escobedo, also dead-heated for
the place spot for owners Tom Maher and Stephen Williams and trainer Jason Olmstead.
Purty Dam Quick (Jess Louisiana Blue-Now Margaret), Presidential Embrace (Brace for Bernal- Presidential Request), Apollitical Gold (Apollitical Jess-SRC Gold), Scaredy Pants (Valiant Hero-Jess Because I Could), Everlong (Apollitical Jess-Foo Who), and JC Wild King (Apollitical Jess-Oh Cherokee Rose) completed the order of finish.
