JESS MY HOCKS

ess My Hocks captured his second consecutive
Leo Stakes-G1 at Remington Park, both times defeating World Champion Danjer.
Last year, Jess My Hocks beat Danjer by a nose. In this year’s $117,280 edition on April 30, Danjer thrashed in the gate and leaned back, getting away last. Jess
My Hocks broke 5th, making up ground throughout the 400 yards. He hit the finish 1/2-length in front, stopping the timer in :19.420. Danjer ended up eighth.
Michelle Hurdle trains Jess My Hocks for Tom and Kathleen McNally, who bred the 5-year-old gelding in Oklahoma. Jess My Hocks had most recently won the Bank of America Remington Park Challenge Championship-G2, and this Leo Stakes is his fifth lifetime stakes victory.
The McNallys bred and raced winner Jess Charlena, the dam of Jess My Hocks. Jess Charlena has produced three winners from five starters, including multiple stakes winner Charlies Fury (who finished fourth in this year’s Leo Stakes) and stakes- placed Charlenas Relentless.
Instygator (Ivory James-Eye Popping), who was coming off three consecutive wins, including the 2021 All American Derby-G1, finished second. Rolando Raudales rode him for owner Barboza Racing Corp and trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. Jorge Torres piloted Apollitical Redflash (Apollitical Jess- Chalala) to third for owner Cavanaugh Quarter Horses and trainer Clinton Crawford.
Completing the field were Charlies Fury (Furyofthewind-Jess Charlena), Relentlessly (Hes Relentless-Runaway Renata), BP Primetime (Im A Fancy PYC-BP Southern Mariah), Famous Chief (One Famous Eagle-Rockin Regent-TB), Danjer (FDD Dynasty-Shez Jess Toxic), Hooked On A Win (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Pretty Girl Kate), Giant Courage (Captain Courage-Deelish), and Jettz (One Fabulous Eagle-First To Celebrate).

QUEEN FOR CASH

here was only one Appaloosa in the field for the
$33,551 Mister Lewie Paint & Appaloosa Memorial, but that horse, Queen For Cash, was the one in the winner’s circle when this Grade 1 stakes race concluded on May 14 at Remington Park.
Trainer Jesus Ruiz switched jockeys to Paul Nieto for this race. The new pairing worked well. Queen For Cash broke on top from the No. 9 gate and was never headed. She led by a 1/2-length at the first call and going into the stretch, then pulled away late, hitting the wire with a 1-length margin.
Queen For Cash finished her trip in :19.675, posting a 93 speed index. Gary Vaughan bred the filly out of Ivory Queen ApHC. Queen For Cash now holds five wins in 13 starts. The $20,676 first-place share of the purse increased her total earnings to $90,568.
Vaughan also owns Queen For Cash, who notched the third stakes win of her career. That total includes last year’s running of the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Stakes, also held at Remington Park.
Wired Four Forty APHA (CRM Livewire -Bentley James QH), finished second for owner James Sills and trainer Eddie Willis. Justine Klaiber was aboard. Bully Pulpit APHA (CRM Livewire-Judys Apollo) took third under Fernando Fonseca-Soto for owners Dan and Kaye Jones and trainer Ty Blackwell.
The remaining order of finish saw Power Fade APHA (Painted Turnpike-Fade Shot) in fourth, followed by wagering favorite Live Moonshine
APHA (CRM Livewire-PRP Sedona Sunset), JS Shezaquickchick APHA (Royal Quick Flash-Cartel Chicken), Mammy Jammer APHA (CRM Livewire- Dashin DD), MH Famous Moonshine (Readi To
Be Famous QH-Gorgeous Judy), RP Reckless Wire APHA (CRM Livewire-RP Miss Reckess Dash QH), De Quick Capo APHA (Capo de Capi QH-Ritas Quick Flash APHA) and Invisable Paint Brush (CRM Livewire-I Like Big Bux QH).
PSBA American Paint Stakes
RP RECKLESS WIRE

P Reckless Wire is a gem of consistency, as
evidenced by the impressive record of 12-4-4-4 she toted into the PSBA American Paint Stakes at Remington Park on May 1. Unsurprisingly, the 3-year-old filly improved on her already impressive resume by becoming a stakes winner.
With her regular pilot Cody Wainscott in the irons, RP Reckless Wire engaged Js Running Wire soon after the start and the two turned the contest into a match race. They dueled the length of the
lane with RP Reckless Wire getting the best of her rival after the long duel; she stopped the timer in :17.682. The score avenged a nose defeat at the hands of Js Running Wire in their previous clash in the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Stakes on March 19. The final clocking of the American Paint Stakes earned the winner a speed index of 89.
Owned by Roy Perkins of Vernon, Texas, and trained by Ray Enlow, RP Reckless Wire scored the $15,375 winner’s share of the purse and increased her bankroll to $122,002. Bred in Oklahoma by Roy Kent Perkins, RP Reckless Wire is out of RP Miss Reckess Dash, who has also produced 2018 World Champion RP Live Wire Dash, a stakes winner of $140,629.
Js Runnin Wire (CRM Livewire- Iwillewantarunner QH) and jockey Gonzalo Gutierrez finished second for owner Shirley Wheeler and trainer Dee Keener.
Ty Blackwell trainee Smithworks (Painted Turnpike-Shesa Mighty Chick), last year’s World Champion Paint, finished third under Cody Smith for owner Bryan Hawk.
La Totuga (CRM Livewire-Goldie Will Make It QH), Secret Livewire (CRM Livewire-Moonlight Who TB), Wired Four Forty (CRM Livewire-Bentley James QH), RF Livies Livewire (CRM Livewire-RF Livies Special QH) and Shez Wired Up (CRM Livewire- Sheza Pretty Jesse QH) followed.
