Usain Colt proved best in the $50,514 Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity at Ajax Downs on Aug. 26.
Ridden by Cassandra Jeschke, Usain Colt broke out at the start and found himself in last place early. The gelding hit his best stride in the stretch and mowed down his eight rivals to defeat fastest qualifier Carlos The Second by 3/4-length.
Usain Colt stopped the timer for 330 yards in :17.260, earning an 83 speed index. Trainer Scott Reid co-owns Usain Colt with John McCracken.
With the the first win of his career, Usain Colt picked up the winner’s check of $20,206,
boosting his total lifetime earn- ings to $20,822.
The colt’s only other start was in the Aug. 5 trials where he finished with the fourth fastest qualifying time.

By The Moon. Magic Ta Fame has produced 100% winners from three winners, including Canada Hi-Point Three-Year-Old Gelding Arctic
Fame, who finished third in the 2014 Ontario Sires Stakes Derby. Usain Colt is her first stakes winner.
Carlos The Second (Winners Award-Chitchatin Okie) finished
second under Corrine Andros for owner Heste Sport Inc. and trainer Jason Pascoe.
Shake It Twice (Look At Magics Form-Shake Pretty Baby) and Cory Spataro were third for owner/trainer Chantelle Bourgeois.
Queens Award (Winners Award- Copper State Queen), Perrfunnysteven (Sugarman Perry-Go Smashing Baby), Hanover Hill Dashing (Sugarman Perry-Dash to the Hilt), All Night Loong (El Night Shift-All Wacked Out), Show Them A Moonie (Five Finder-Streakin Centerfols) and A Fancy Arrangement (Sugarman Perry- Jesshazoom) completed the order of finish. Elizabeth Royal scratched.
