Second-placed Apollitical Pence (Apollitical Jess-Send City) is owned by Dunn Ranch, which bred the gelding with Womack Cavender Farms. Jesus Ayala rode the gelding for trainer Monty Arrossa. Apollitical Pence ran third in last year’s Golden State Million Futurity-G1 and Laico Bird Stakes.
Martha Wells’ homebred Red Hawk Cartel (Favorite Cartel-Red Hawk Chick) finished in third place under the guid- ance of Erasmo Gasca for trainer Matthew Fales. Red Hawk Cartel finished second in the Winter Derby and last year won the California Breeders Freshman Stakes.
Dexxter (Corona Cartel-Tres Of Linda) finished a close fourth and was followed
by Ali Babe Foose (Foose-Babe On The Fly), Bail Czech (Corona Czech-Letty Bail Regis Out), KR Hi Five (Five Bar Cartel-I Bee Phia), Teller Hez Famous (One Famous Eagle-Teller Sheza Doll), Tac Me Up (Kiddy Up-Tacatrina) and Jess Curlin (One Sweet Jess-Fire In The Curl).
