Dynamo Leo, stakes placed runner out of Dynaflow Miss
She was the dam of eight foals with eight starters and seven ROM with one stakes winner and two stakes placed runners. Her stakes winner was Dynago Miss with her stakes win coming in the 1960 Ruidoso Futurity with Dynamo Leo, the second stakes placed runner. Dynago Miss was the 1960 Champion Two-Year-Old Filly.
Dynaflow Miss was sired by Red Miller by Prince Barton, a son of Sir Barton, the first Thoroughbred Triple Crown winner. The dam of Dynaflow Miss was a mare by Lowery Clegg. Lowery Clegg was sired by Sam Watkins, by Hickory Bill by Peter McCue.
The sign of a great stallion is his ability to sire when crossed on a variety of bloodlines or broodmare sires. Jet Deck certainly proved that in his short life, and we have left a number of other significant runners as we don’t have enough room. Next is his influence on the dam side of the pedigree.
Going Light a 5x5 breeding pattern to Domino the great source of speed.
Jean Ann Blair, the dam of Vandy,
was unregistered and so no race record exists. Her pedigree shows that she was a Thoroughbred, but not registered. She was sired by Joe Blair, a famous racehorse of the day. He raced for 11 years with his most memorable race a loss to the legendary Pan Zareta in a match race. Pan Zareta set a New World Record for 5 furlongs in :57 1/5 that stood for 32 years. She carried
10 pounds more than Joe Blair. But Joe Blair set his own record when he set a New World Record in :39 for 3 furlongs also at the Juarez, Mexico racetrack, a year after his second to Pan Zareta at the same track.
The role of Joe Blair in this pedigree
is interesting because of the success of Jet Deck on mares that carry the blood of Leo. Joe Blair was the sire of Joe Reed P-3 and Little Fanny, who was the grand sire and granddam of Leo, Warren’s great stallion.
Joe Blair was sired by Bonnie Joe, who was sired by Faustus, a son of Enquirer and Faustus was out of Lizzie G by War Dance. The dam of Bonnie Joe was Bonnie Rose by Bonnie Scotland, and Bonnie Rose was out of Melrose by Childe Harold.
Miss Blair was the dam of Joe Blair. Her sire was Bowling Green by King Galop and Bowling Green was out of Playing Fields by Adventurer. Miss Blair was out of Com-I-Cut by Pursebearer
and Com-I-Cut was out of Isbell by Spendthrift. The dam of Jean Ann Blair was Opal Wall by Orbicular, and Opal Wall was out of Josephine Johnson by Bowling Green. This gives Jean Ann Blair a breeding pattern of 3x3 to Bowling Green. The dam of Josephine Johnson was Alma Glyn by Glyndon, and Alma Glyn was out of Amelia Folsom.
The dam of Dyna Van was Dynaflow Miss, who was unplaced in one start.
of multiple Champions like Vandy’s Flash, the 1960 World Champion.
Vandy was sired by Going Light, and his dam was Jean Ann Blair by Joe Blair. Sweeping Light was the sire of Going Light. This horse had 75 starts with 21 wins, 11 seconds and 9 thirds earning $39,205. He was a multiple stakes winner of races like the Champagne Stakes, which was run at 6 3/4 furlongs in 1931, and
the San Diego Handicap, where he set a New Track Record for one mile in a time of 1:36 3/5 at Santa Anita. Manna was the sire of Sweeping Light. The sire of Manna was Phalaris, and he was by Polymelus. The dam of Phalaris was Bromus by Sainfoin by Springfield.
Our Sis was the dam of Going Light. She is reported to be a race winner with 67 starts, but the rest of her race record is unknown. She is reportedly the dam four foals including the race winners Military Sand, with four wins in 47 starts; and Diesel Sand, with six wins in 77 starts.
The sire of Our Sis was Tryster.
The 1920 Champion Two-Year-Old Colt Tryster was sired by Peter Pan by Commando by Domino. Peter Pan was out of Cinderella by Hermit. This gives
