Futurity, Rocky Mountain QHA Futurity, Laddie Stakes and Laredo Casa Blanca Futurity. He set two New Track Records
in 1971, including one in the Kansas Futurity going the 350 yards in a time of :17.59 with Keith Assmussen in the saddle. He made 15 starts in 1971 winning 12 races with two seconds and earnings of $174,804. His only race off the board was the All American Futurity where he hit the rail, losing all chances of a win.
Mr Jet Moore started his three-year-
old campaign with another New Track Record, winning the Live Oak Derby at
the Columbus Racecourse going the 350 yards in a time of :17.55. He won the 1972 Rainbow Derby, also in a New Track Record time of :19.69 for the 400 yards. His win
in the Rainbow Derby gave him a little redemption for his All American defeat as
he beat Mr Kid Charge, the winner of that All American Futurity. When we add some other participants in the Rainbow Derby, he also beat Some Kinda Man, Come Six and Duplicate Bid, who all crossed the finish line ahead of him in the All American Futurity. He then went to California and won the Go Man Go Handicap at Los Alamitos also in a Nwew Track Record time of :19.75 for the 400 yards. Then he won the Vandy’s Flash Handicap, Pomona Championship and
the inaugural running of the Champion of Champions. His other stakes appearances came with a third in the 1972 Ruidoso Derby, a fourth in the Chicado V Handicap, and a second in the Los Alamitos Invitational Championship. He made 13 starts in
1972 with nine wins, one second and two thirds earning $166,603. His total record
is 28 starts with 21 wins, three seconds and two thirds with earnings of $341,407. He was named the 1972 World Champion, Champion Stallion and Champion Three- Year-Old Colt.
The sire record for Mr Jet Moore is another one of those cases of the good dying young, as he sired only one crop of foals. He died of an aneurysm before he could sire any more. His sire record shows what we may have missed as he sired
72 foals with 62 starters, 51 ROM and seven stakes horses including three stakes winners. His foals earned $579,406. His big stakes winner was Jet Rockette with 41 starts and 14 wins, four seconds and six thirds earning $143,387. Her stakes wins came in the 1976 West Texas Futurity,
Sunland Park Fall Futurity and 1977 Sunland Park Fall Derby.
Dyna Van was the dam of Mr Jet Moore. She was a stakes placed runner with 19 starts, three wins, eight seconds and two thirds earning $6,048. She was stakes placed in the 1958 Inaugural Handicap. She is the dam of six foals with five starters, four ROM and two stakes winners. Her stakes winner, in addition to Mr Jet Moore, was his full sister Miss Jet Van, winner of the WSQHA Derby.
The sire of Dyna Van was Vandy, an AA rated runner that only had five official starts with three wins and one second. He was the sire of 207 starters with 110 ROM, 15 stakes winners and 14 stakes place runners. His foals earned $790,280.
