Revelacion Classic
ALL BOUT DAT BASS
by Luis Prieto Zamudio, translation by Eduardo Silveyra
The finalists for this classic came from the qualifying races held on May 5. In the finals, Y Paint Paris came in as the favorite with the best time of :17.169 for 350 yards.
A purse of $637,300 pesos (approx. $33,040 U.S.) was to be distributed from first to fourth place.
When going out to the track, the prefer- ences were stacked for the mare All Bout Dat Bass, who also won her qualifying race in :17.329, a time much less favorable than that of Y Paint Paris.
At the start of the race, Ad Fortune fell, staying at a disadvantage in the group, while Y Paint Paris took the lead very close to the rail and obeying the direction of Mario Alberto López Marmolejo where she remained most of the way. However, in the final yards, the pow- erful All Bout Dat Bass stepped in with great authority, reaching the finish line 1-length in front of Kitty Kiernan, who also made a strong effort on the right side of the track.
All Bout Dat Bass, a five-year-old sorrel mare, was conducted by the experienced Juan Carlos Alvarado and exhausted the distance
in :17.42 for an 84 speed index, thus forging her third win and remaining unbeaten at the Hipódromo de las Américas.
“Previously, the mare ran six match races, of which she won five. The
one she lost was from a bad
start, but in the rematch she
got her revenge,” revealed
a team-member of owner Cuadra El Renacimiento. Originally from the United States, the winner was raised by Michael Hester and is the product of the cross of the stallion Pappasito with the mare Jess For Jim, a daughter of Take Off Jess.
For this success she added
to her account $318,350
pesos ($16,504 U.S. approx.),
bringing her total to more than $405 thou- sand pesos in her still short official career, and adding points to the record of trainer Gonzalo Bastida Pacheco, who was responsible for sad- dling in this commitment.
Assisted by Israel Dominguez Morales, Kitty Kiernan (FDD Dynasty-Fleeting Touch) closed in second place for owner Cuadra El Cuartel and trainer José Luis Tavizón Barraza.
In third place was Beauty N Speed (Deefirst-Runaway Speed) with the assistance of Honorio Martínez, for owner Cuadra Anjor and trainer Ángel Gustavo Magdaleno.
Y Paint Paris (PYC Paint Your Wagon-First Prize Paris), Moon Racer Napoleón (Big Time Favorite-Fun Timing Gal), MS Blue Intriguing (Jess Louisiana Blue-Call Me Intriguing), Alibabá (Corona Cartel-This Lady Likes Cash), Ad Fortune
(Dictorial-Ambassadors Daughter), Teller Hesa Corona (Teller Cartel-Eyes Tricky Too) and Wagons Queen (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Queen Of Anywhere) completed the order of finish.
