Frenchman’s Lady, the

is a daughter of Casey’s Ladylove and has produced Lord Alamitos & Lord Lady
Frenchmans Fabulous truly proved his versatility. He was shown in the high school ranks, the AQHA, barrel futurities and various levels of professional rodeo. Kelsey Lutjen
and Fab won the 2012 National High School Rodeo Association Goat Tying Championship, the Arizona High School Finals Breakaway Roping Championship, and the Year-End
title in Goat Tying. They won the Year-End All-Around title for the Arizona High School Rodeo Association. Fab was the National High School Rodeo Association Girls Reserve AQHA Horse of the Year and was a winner
in barrels with wins like the American West Central Finals Futurity Reserve Championship and the Lazy E Spring Barrel Race Reserve Championship. He is a multiple 1D finalist
in events like the Am. West/Central Division in Waco, Texas. He was the Ray’s Roping Futurity Calf Roping Reserve Champion
and the Bold Heart Roping Heeler Reserve Champion. Frenchmans Fabulous earned his ROM in 2010, but went on to earn additional points in 2011 to give him a total of 35.5 AQHA roping points in heading and heeling.
VERSATILITY AND THE PEDIGREE
When we view the pedigree of Fab, we
see where his versatility comes from. It starts with his sire Frenchmans Guy, whose own performance was limited because of an eye injury, but not his sire record. He is the sire
of horses that have won over $11 million in a variety of events. He is the Equi-Stat #2 all-time leading sire of barrel racing money earners. His barrel racers have earned over $7.2 million. His leading money winners include Sky High Pie, earner of over $130,000; Guys Famous Girl with earnings of over $125,000; and Guys Six Pack To Go with earnings of over $115,000.
The Frenchmans Guy performers outside barrel racing include French Wonder, a winner of over $635,000 in bulldogging. This horse carried three riders at the 2014 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR), earning over $135,000, and he earned over $100,000 at the 2013 WNFR.
Sun Frost, the sire of Frenchmans Guy,
is an all-around sire that had a limited show career as he was purchased by Pat Cowan
to be a sire. The versatility of the Sun Frost colts was obvious from the beginning. One of his first foals, Sun Flash Lady, is a National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) money earner. PC Boy George was the 1994
North Dakota High School Pole Bending Champion. Some of Sun Frost’s other performers are 1987 Dakota Classic Cutting Futurity Champion PC Lace N Leather
and North Dakota High School and Rough Riders Calf Roping Champion PC Louden.
AA runner Lord Alamitos, winner of 5 barrel futurities and a National Cutting Horse Association money earner.
Lord Lady, Dodge National Finals barrel racing winner and WNFR qualifier.
Sun Frost is the sire of barrel racers
with Equi-Stat earnings of over $530,000. When James Loiseau died, Frances formed
a partnership with Pat Cowan, and many
of the Frenchman mares were bred to Sun Frost. This partnership produced horses like PC Lady Frances, a winner of over $40,000 in barrel racing. Then, Frances’ daughter Lis and her husband John Holliman bred Caseys Charm to Sun Frost and they got French Flash Hawk, aka Bozo, and PC Frenchmans Hayday, aka Dinero.
Sun Frost is by Doc’s Jack Frost, who is an NCHA money earner of over $5,000 with 8 AQHA cutting points. The dam of Sun Frost is Prissy Cline, a daughter of Driftwood Ike by Driftwood. Driftwood Ike is out of Hancock Belle by Buck by Chicaro.
Driftwood becomes key in our look at Fab’s pedigree and the Barron/Nichols breeding program. Driftwood was a match race horse known as Speedy that was purchased by Buck Nichols and turned into a roping horse. Nichols sold Driftwood to Asbury Schell, and they went on to a very successful rodeo career. Schell later sold Driftwood to Channing
and Katy Peake of California. He became the foundation of their famous breeding program, siring outstanding performance horse in a variety of events, including roping and reined cow horses.
Frenchman’s Guy is out of Frenchman’s Lady by Laughing Boy. Frenchman’s Lady was an unshown daughter of Casey’s Ladylove. She is the dam of Lord Alamitos, an AA rated runner earning an 80 speed index. He is an NCHA money earner that won the South Dakota Cutting Horse Association (SDCHA) and Black Hills Cutting Horse Association (BHCHA) Amateur Cutting Championships. Lord Alamitos is the winner of five-barrel racing futurities, including the Fizz Bomb Classic and the Black Hills Classic. His full sister, Lady Lord, is a Dodge National Finals barrel racing winner and WNFR qualifier.
The sire of Caseys Charm is 1979 Reserve World Champion Senior Heading Horse Tiny Circus. Earning a 97 speed index on the track, Tiny Circus has earned 34 AQHA performance points in tie-down roping, heading, heeling, reining and western pleasure.
