All the Frenchmans Fabulous/Dash Ta Fame foals have a 4 X 5 breeding pattern to Tiny Watch, giving the cross a direct link to Clabber as a blood affinity.
The second leading money earning
nick for Fab is with East Moon by Marthas Six Moons. This cross has produced barrel money earners Buggin To Be Fab ($81,507), Fabs Easter Moon, BS Guys French Girl and KN Fabulous Six Moons. Marthas Six Moons is by Six Fols by Easy Six. The part that makes this interesting is that Easy Six is out of Peggy Toro, a granddaughter of
Peggy N by Clabber.
East Moon has a pedigree built on inbreeding to a superior female. Marthas Six Moons is out of Lady Bugs Martha by Lady Bugs Moon, a son of the great mare FL Lady Bug. The dam of East Moon is Saint Bugs by Bugs Alive In 75, a great grandson of FL Lady Bug. This gives East Moon a breeding pattern of 4 X 5 to FL Lady Bug, another example of inbreeding to a superior female. An added note: The dam of Lady Bugs Martha is Lan Lay, who is out of Chain Lay by My Texas Dandy, who is the sire of Clabber.
Fabulous Parade ($51,803), who is one of the first performers sired by Fab, represents the third leading money earning nick for Frenchmans Fabulous. National Barrel Racing Association Youth World Champion Fabulous Parade earned 52.5 AQHA performance points in the open, youth, amateur and novice divisions. Her dam is Rose Parade by Duplicate Copy. Duplicate Copy is out of Triple Lady whose dam is Clabber’s Lucky V by Clabber.
Another horse, KN Fabulous Ladyluck ($16,848) gives us an opportunity to look at a pedigree that not only has Clabber but also has linebreeding to Driftwood through her
dam as well. Her dam is Kathy Trena Two and the Clabber comes from her dam Chit Chat Kathy. The sire of Chit Chat Kathy is Kingbee Juan by Clabber Juan by Wagon N by Clabber.
The Driftwood blood in KN Fabulous Ladyluck comes from Kathy Trena Two’s sire Generals King, who is out of Golden Speedy by Speedy II by Driftwood. And, Kathy Trena Two is out of Chit Chat Kathy, whose dam is Miss Trena by Speedy II by Driftwood. This gives Kathy Trena Two a breeding pattern of 3 X 3 to Speedy II by Driftwood.
The foals of the Frenchmans Fabulous/ Kathy Trena Two cross can be used to highlight the versatility that Dale Barron
and Ken Nichols are working for in their breeding program. This cross includes KN Fabulous Chitchat, KN Fabulous Kayde Kat, KN Fabulous Frontpage and KN Fabs French Drift. Here are some highlights that these siblings have accomplished: Kelsey Lutjen won the second round of the goat tying at
the College National Finals on KN Fabulous Chitchat; Lutjen won the 2012 Classic Equine Amateur Futurity in barrel racing with KN Fabulous N Khaki; KN Fabs Kayde Kat was a qualifier to the National High School Rodeo in barrel racing; and KN Fabulous Frontpage is a World Series Roping Finals money earner.
It sure looks like Ken and Dale have applied the power of the mare through Frenchmans Fabulous and the mares he has been bred to, thus making him a successful sire. They also believe in the power of Clabber and Driftwood as the blood affinity in many of the successful nicks for this stallion. This has all come together to give them a breeding program built on the versatility needed to produce good barrel horses.
I think James and Frances Loiseau would be proud of what Frenchmans Fabulous has done for their Frenchman line of horses and their special mare Casey’s Ladylove. After all, he is a fabulous Frenchman bred horse.
