Tha Duke’s winning connections include breeders/owners Ashton Elder & Miguel Romero Jr., trainer Ashton Elder and jockey Arturo Alvarez.
Louisiana Million Futurity, Tha Duke dominated his trial heat with a 1 3/4-lengths win and also won his trial for the Dash for Cash Futurity-G2 before finishing fifth in the final.
“This has been a passion of ours for a long time,” co-owner Ashton Elder said in an interview with StallioneSearch.com.
“We started with a small breeding program, which was fun. Then Tha Duke happened, and it became real and fun. We are going
to let this sink in, make sure he’s happy and healthy and go from there.”
Tha Duke is owned by Miguel Romero Jr. and Ashton Elder, who also bred the gelding out of Precious Perry Girl. She has
produced five winners from seven starters including one graded stakes winner. He traces back to his third dam, Waymaker Miss, who was a finalist in the 1994 La Primera Del Ano Derby-G2. She has produced nine winners from 11 starters including two stakes winners and one stakes placed. Ashton Elder also trains the gelding.
San Lorenzo Jet’s winning connections include breeder Rogers Farm, Tim and Jennie Rogers, owner Rogelio Marquez Jr., trainer Jesus Marquez and jockey J. R. Ramirez.
