                                 As a 2 year old last year, Born To B Bad won the Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge-G3
and finished second in the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2. This year prior to the Speedhorse Derby he ran third in the Ruidoso Derby Challenge.
Jorge Torres piloted Damn Strait (Dominyun- Hottesticketintown) to second for trainer
Stacy Charette-Hill and owner M.C. Stucks.
The gelding ran third in last year’s Speedhorse Futurity-G3 and second in the Governor’s Stakes.
Denis and Julie Schoenhofer’s Famousist (Separatist-Ought To Be Famous) ran third. Mario Delgado rode the gelding for trainer Jose Gamez. The gelding finished second in the Oklahoma Derby-G3 earlier this year.
Completing the field were JM Texas Dominyun (Dominyun-Texas Lucky Lady), Mighty Tamale (Mighty B Valiant-Real Hot Tamale), The A Train (Freighttrain B-Brimmies Alli Bi B), Knockemout Capi (Capo De Capi-Eyesa Knockout), Gypsys Last Hero (Valiant Hero-Threadbare Gypsysoul), Mia Kine (Dominyun-Mia Jones), and DT Why Not Me (Dominyun- Too Tiny To Quit).
