                                Wyoming Bred Futurity
A TOAST TO BRINDIS

Gerald F. Kaul’s homebred A Toast To Brindis, wire-to-wire winner of his June 24 trial for the fourth-fastest qualifying time, earned his first stakes victory in the Wyoming Bred Futurity finals at Wyoming Downs on July 8.
Ridden by Nakia Ramirez for trainer Jesse Villegas, Toast To Brindis went 300 yards in :15.527, and his margin of victory was a nose from second-fastest qualifier Tanquery Dash. The $12,985 winner’s share of the $37,100 purse increased the sorrel gelding’s earnings to $14,994.
A Toast To Brindis is one of four winners from as many starters foaled by the lightly raced mare A Secret Life. Kaul’s homebred, A Secret Life has produced two stakes winners, including Barely A Secret, a full sister to A Toast To Brindis who won the 2015 Sweetwater Wyoming Bred Futurity at Sweetwater Downs in Rock Springs.
A finalist in the May 21 $25,770 Bucking Horse Futurity at Miles City, Montana, A Toast To Brindis has won two of four races. The gelding broke his maiden with a 1 1/2-length victory in the fourth of six Wyoming Bred Futurity trials on June 24.
Kaul and Villegas were also represented by Tanquery Dash (Brindis Por Cayenne-Dashin Dashetta). Rick Oliver rode the homebred gelding. Foose Dust (Foose-Out Of The Dust) finished third. The homebred gelding was ridden by Jesus Valenzuela for owner Jim Nebeker and trainer Riley Moosman.
Innosent Cat (Red Storm Cat-Not That Innocent) was fourth and was followed by Eyesa Special Cirrus (Eyesa Special Slim-Lil Shameless Angel), Super Sonic Moves (Maknmoves-BF Outrageous Doll), Switching To 307 (First Prize Stone-RM Switching Chicks), Favorite Fire Boy (Favorite Cartel-Club Pro) and disqualified from 4th to 9th Dust Stone (First Prize Stone-Dreaming Snow). DP Regal Dynasty was scratched.
Utah Bred Futurity
BAY MAX

Bay Max was caught at the wire and finished third in his July 1 trial for the Utah Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs and was the ninth fastest qualifier
to the finals. The gelding, however, led from gate to wire to score an 8-1 upset in the Utah Bred Futurity finals on July 15.
Ridden by Jose Guzman, Bay Max broke on top from the 4-hole and kept right on going through to the finish in his second career start, breaking his maiden in the $34,800 stakes event. He led every step of the 350 yards, holding a nose margin at every call and finishing a nose in front at the wire. Bay Max stopped the timer in :17.741 for the distance, earning a career high 88 speed index for trainer Ryan Christensen.
A Utah homebred for Casey Woolstenhulme, Bay Max, now an earner of $16,456, is out of the unraced Thoroughbred mare Weekend Traffic. She has produced 100% earners from two Quarter Horse and two Thoroughbred starters. Bay Max is her top earner and first stakes winner. The gelding’s second dam, lightly raced Ashleys Eyes TB, is the granddam of stakes placed Amina TB.
Third fastest qualifier Letsgetitonmarvin (Winners Version-Dashin Amy Jo) finished second in a game effort for owner Allan Gurney and trainer Chancey Spencer.
Trial winner and second fastest qualifier LT Heza Winner (Winners Version-Nurturist) and Oscar Cervantes rallied strongly in the late stages to finish third for owner Aron Saenz and trainer Diana Garfias.
Dash Off To Jump (Class Jump-Dustys Cocktail), SB Itty Bitty (JR Dynasty Mountain- Southern Surfer Girl), Cranky T (Class Jump-Prime Proud N Noble) and Jerrys Knud Runner (Mr Perry Nine-Heart Of A Runner) completed the order of finish. Jagersfadedbluejeans, Miss Five Bar Maid and Pour Me A Corona were scratched.
Wyoming Bred Derby
VVR DAZZLING CORONA

After a third place finish in the 2016 Wyoming Bred Futurity, VVR Dazzling Corona found sweet redemption, and her first stakes win at this year’s $23,000 Wyoming Bred Derby at Wyoming Downs on July, 9.
The sorrel filly broke first from the 9th post position on the lead and battled for precious ground under Jesus Virgen. The pair led by a neck in the stretch, but found a late burst of speed to increase that lead to 1-length at the wire. They were the winner’s in their comprehensive wire-to-wire victory, covering the 350-yard fast track in :17.453, and earn- ing a career best 96 speed index.
VVR Dazzling Corona, who was the fastest qualifier from the June 25 trials, claimed the $8,050 winner’s share for owner Casey Albert Lipp and trainer Skyler Greene. The filly’s lifetime earning’s rose to $15,657 after the victory for a record of 10-2(1)-3-3(1).
Mike Lipp bred VVR Dazzling Corona out of unraced Dazzling Chivata in Wyoming. VVR Dazzling Corona is her first foal.
Eyesa Special Shadow (Eyesa Special Slim-Lil Shameless Angel) finished second under jockey Luis Peralta for owner Juanita J. Villegas and trainer Jesse Villegas.
Nowshesfamous (Woodbridge-Now a Lady) dueled, and was a game third under jockey C.J. Benn for owner Roger C. Overturf and trainer Glade Van Tassell.
CD Leave Em Proud (BR Proudest Victory- Dellaleave), Jerrys Scooter (Dashair-Wabbit On A High), Smoke N Fame (Smoke N Sparks-KJ Dasher), Brindis Secret Toast (Brindis Por Cayenne-Secretly Illusive), Judys Girl (Dashin Mr Jess-ABS Carolina Girl), Pro Paige (Dustin Pro-The Saime Paige) and Eyesa Special Harper (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Camilla) completed the order of finish.
