by Emily Blankenship
Honor The Fast Man sailed to his first stakes victory in the $25,198 Adequan Evergreen Park Derby Challenge at Evergreen Park in Grand
Prairie, Canada.
The track was fast when Honor The Fast Man
shot from the 4-post under Martin Ortiz.
Racing for owner/trainer/breeder Tom Kenway,
Honor The Fast Man was second out of the gate, but led the field by a head at the first call. The bay geld- ing had a 1/2-length lead going into the stretch, and crossed the wire first by a neck holding off a charge from North Pine Special.
Honor The Fast Man and Ortiz clocked a time of :19.932 and earned a 91 speed index. The $12,347 winner’s share of the purse boosts the bay gelding’s lifetime earnings to $32,089.

the Manitoba Speed Horse Futurity at Assiniboia Downs and placed third in the 2003 Bonnett/ Brodon Futurity at Grand Prairie. Buckle High has produced 100% money earners from three starters. Honor The Fast Man is her first stakes winner and top earner.

is owned by Pete Schoeler and is trained by Janice Sather. Scott Sterr did the riding. He was coming off an impressive 8-race undefeated streak.
