Author’s Note: Late in life, Rex Ellsworth fell on hard times due to some bad business dealing. This led to his inability to care for his horses. Some were found suffering and his horses were removed from his care until he was able to get things under control and get them back. The incident tarnished his great career as a horseman, but not the great contribution he made to our industry. He died in 1997.
