of Ella.
The Gentry Brothers brought this mare
line into their broodmare band when they bought Cute Kiss in 1971. The Gentry Brothers had started their racehorse breeding activities with the purchase of Jodie Echols, a mare by Ed Echols. The foal that came with Jodie Echols was Velox Bar by Three Bars. Velox Bar would become a stakes winner in the 1970 New Mexico State Fair Handicap and would finish third in the 1969 All American Futurity-G1 that was won by Easy Jet.
Cute Kiss would produce Easy Kiss by Easy Jet in 1975. This mare would go on
to become the winner of $101,022 without being a stakes winner or stakes placed. She won six of 21 starts. Easy Kiss produced seven foals, with all of them being ROM on the racetrack. She is the dam of one stakes winner and two stakes placed runners.
The stakes placed runners are Kiss Me
High, second in the Denim N Diamonds Futurity-G1, and Fishin Kisses, second in the Hipodromo de las Americas Stakes.
The stakes winner for Easy Kiss was Gentry Brothers’ famous mare Such An Easy Effort by Special Effort. This mare won the Denim N Diamonds Futurity-G1, the El Primera Del Ano Derby-G1, the QHBC Distaff Classic-G1, the Sunland Park Fall Derby,G3, and the Jess Burner Memorial Handicap. She earned $496,127.
Such An Easy Effort became the dam
of 18 foals with 16 ROM from 17 starters, including two stakes winners and three stakes placed runners. The leading money winner for this mare is Deelish, the 1998 AQHA Racing Champion Two-Year-Old Filly and the 2000 AQHA Racing Champion Aged Mare. She won or placed in eight stakes
races with wins in the 1998 Dash For Cash Futurity-G1 and the 2000 Go Man Go Handicap-G1. Deelish was sired by First Down Dash.
Fearless Freda, the second stakes winner out of Such An Easy Effort, was sired
by Dash For Cash. Fearless Freda was a 3-time graded stakes winner, including
the Texas Classic Derby-G1 and QHBC Championship Classic-G1. She was second or third in seven more stakes and earned $262,121 on the track.
Fearless Freda was named an AQHA Dam of Distinction in 2012. She is the
dam of 19 foals with 12 of them going to the track. They have earned $1,037,358 with 10 ROM, three stakes winners, three stakes place runners and two Champions. Her leading money winner to date is 2005 AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion Fredricksburg, who won four stakes including the Refrigerator Handicap-G1 and The Championship at Sunland Park-G1. He earned $369,304.
The second champion out of Fearless Freda was 2012 AQHA Racing Champion Aged Mare Fredaville. She won seven stakes races including the Remington Distaff Challenge (twice), the Los Alamitos Distaff Challenge-G3 and, the AQHA Distaff Challenge Championship-G1. She earned $325,321 on the track.
This brings us to Dasha Freda, our 2015 Speedhorse Broodmare of the Year. She is a full sister to Fredricksburg and Fredaville. They are sired by Mr Jess Perry, the 1994 AQHA Racing Champion Two Year Old and Champion Two-Year-Old Colt. Mr Jess Perry is the sire of horses that have won over $47.7 million in earnings and is the second leading living sire of money earners. In addition to Fredericksburg and Fredaville, he is the sire of six more racing Champions such as the AQHA Racing World Champion Apollitical Jess.

We see that her pedigree pattern is based on the Mr Jess Perry nick with Dash For Cash mares. This has been a very good cross for both Mr Jess Perry and Fearless Freda, as two Champions have come from this cross. A third Mr Jess Perry Champion comes from this same cross with 2-time Champion Noconi, who is out of My Dashing Lady by Dash For Cash.
