Whozit by Catechu, and this mare was bred by Snedigar.
The next three foals out of Husky were sired by Be Sure Now and were all bred by Snedigar. They include Sure Now, a gelding that won $38,081 with six stakes wins including the Ruidoso Futurity in 1955 beating the great Go Man Go. He would also defeat Go Man Go in the Quality Oil Purse in 1957, and he would finish ahead of Go Man Go a third time, making him the first horse to finish in front of Go Man Go in three races. This gelding had 109 starts with 20 wins, 17 seconds and 9 thirds. The next Be Sure Now foal was On I Go, born in 1955. She was an AA rated ROM mare.
Cute Trick, who was out of Husky, came in between Sure Now and On I Go in 1954. She was the winner of five stakes races with wins
in the PCQHRA Futurity, The Phoenix QH Futurity, and the Phoenix Derby. She won her trial for the PCQHRA Futurity on the 17th
of September and then won the finals on the 22nd of September. She was the 1956 AQHA Racing Champion Two-Year-Old Filly for her breeder/owner Roy “Stan” Snedigar.
The sire of Cute Trick and her siblings was the Thoroughbred Be Sure Now.
This stallion was bred by Colonel E. R. Bradley’s Idle Hour Stock Farm, the home
of Merit Quarter Horse mare June Bug Allred. June Bug Allred was bred by C. V. Allred of Mesa, Arizona. C. V. Allred is the father of the AQHA Hall of Fame members the Allred Brothers (Harvey, Dale and Jerry). June Bug Allred would prove to be
a foundation mare for the Allred Brothers. Her line would produce Deck’em, a winner of over $120,000. Deck’em would produce three stakes winners in Dash In Style, Decked For Cash and A Social Climber - all sired by Dash For Cash.
A mare by Silver Cord named Husky was bred by R. S. “Stanley” Snedigar of Laveen, Arizona. The Snedigar name may be familiar to those who follow Three Bars. Snedigar is the man responsible for bringing Three Bars to the Southwest when he and partner Toad Haggard claimed him for $2,000. Husky was born in 1940 out of Circles by Ben Hur by Rainy Day. Husky is the sixth dam of Dasha Freda.
Husky has an interesting produce record. She produced Roy’s Gal in 1945 by Red Man. This mare was bred by Snedigar.
Her next foal was Donna Ellsworth by Air Pat, a Thoroughbred. She was bred by the Ellsworth Brothers. Her next foal was Kid Bars and he was bred by Snedigar but owned in my AQHA Stud Book by Sid Vail, the owner of Three Bars. She then produced
