PHQ Goodbye Earl’s winning connections include owner Paint Horse Queens, trainer Dee Keener and jockey Jesus Salazar
This year, Sayonara had a filly by The Dashing Hero. The filly has color, which Wendy is happy about since Sayonara is a solid. The Keeners are hoping to go to both Royal Quick Flash and Awesome Chrome (the sire of PHQ Goodbye Earl) with the mare this year.
Longshot CRM Radio Flyer APHA (PYC Paint Your Wagon QH-Elaina Go Go) ran second under jockey Cody Smith for trainer Matt Whitekiller. Dan Jones bred the gelding and owns him with his wife, Kaye. A half- brother to 2-time Paint World Champion CRM Livewire, CRM Radio Flyer won last year’s Pot O’ Gold Futurity-G1 and finished second in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1.
Sandra Garnett-Tatom’s homebred Jess Icy APHA (Boknaai QH-Together Again), the third-fastest qualifier, finished third. Agustin Silva piloted Jess Icy for trainer R.L. Robinson. In six previous starts, the gelding had a win, two seconds, and a third.
Ivoriona APHA (Ivory James QH-Friona) finished fourth and was followed by DTL Batter Up APHA (Royal Quick Flash-Beef Jerkin Queen), Tellerimaprettygal ApHC (Tellers Dash QH-Thunders Judy Mac), Cherry Cobbler APHA (Capo De Capi QH-Mt Dash Olene), Fanci Flyin APHA (Texas Six-Fanci And Special QH), Macario Gold APHA (Sean Roy QH-Hannas Treasure) & BG Fire Em Up ApHC (Takin The Cash-BG Streakintotheline QH).
