RUNNING DRAGON

Running Dragon cruised to her third straight stakes of 2017 and her fifth overall in the $85,000 Sunburst Stakes, a 350-yard dash for New
Mexico-bred three-year-old fillies at Sunland Park on April 1.
The track was fast with a 5mph crosswind
when Running Dragon shot away from the 6-post with jockey Adrian Ramos aboard. The two were unstoppable as they ran to an impressive wire-to- wire victory, 1/2-length in front of the competition. Finishing with a time of :17.387 for a 93 speed index, Running Dragon took home the $51,000 winner’s share. Her lifetime earning’s are now $572,641. Running Dragon was coming off two very impres- sive victories in the NMHBA Stakes-RG2 and the Shue Fly Stakes-RG2 with Adrian Ramos in the irons for all of her Sunland Park wins.
Running Dragon is bred and owned by By By JJ LLC and is out of lightly raced Banking Lane. The mare has produced two starters - both money earners. Running Dragon is her top earner and first stakes winner to date.
With solid encouragement from Esgar Ramirez, Princess Jessie Jane (Jesse James Jr-A Scootin Princess) finished second for owner Daniel Nunez and trainer Shae Cox.
Third place went to Frost Dalena (Chicks Regard-Forced To Win) under Daniel Amaya for owner Jeff Caron and trainer Jimmy Guerra Jr.
Completing the field were Eyes Gona Flash You (Gonamakeyoureyesblue-Flashnfly), First Vegas Moon (First Moonflash-Bestseatintown), First Lluvia Runaway (Sign To Be A Runaway-Lluvia Ligera First), La Montesa (Jesse James Jr-Tangled Vines), La Riena Del Sur (Heza Motor Scooter-Quintons Girl TB), Miss Call Me First (First Moonflash-Willie Call Me) & Jess A Glance (Jess A Chicks-Love At First Glance).
Harris County Stakes
HEZA BELL PERRY

After three seasons of narrow misses, Heza Bell Perry took his first stakes challenge in the $20,000 Harris County Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park for three year olds and upward on March 31.
The 6-year-old sorrel gelding started from the second post position under jockey Alfonso Lujan. He broke later than most, but made up the ground immediately by jumping to an early head length lead at the first call. The pair continued their strong trip and Heza Bell Perry stretched the lead with a driving finish to 3/4-lengths at the wire. The pair covered the 550-yard fast track in :27.212 and earned a speed index of 107.
The gelding’s first stakes win brought home the $12,000 winner’s share of the purse for owner and trainer Javier Noel Contreras. The win boosted Heza Bell Perry’s lifetime earning’s to $147,106.
Mars Racing bred Heza Bell Perry in Louisiana out of unraced De Bell Perry. She has produced 100% money earners/ROM from four starters. Heza Bell Perry is her top earner and first stakes winner. The gelding, who is a finalist in 5 graded stakes, set a New Track Record at Fair Grounds for 440 yards.
Corona La Jolla (Tinys First Corona-Mary La Jolla) finished second under Rodrigo Vallejo for owner Crown Racing and trainer Judd Kearl. Super Sonic Patriot (Jet Black Patriot-Totally Selfish
TB) finished third under Mario Trujillo for owner Richard Mendoza and trainer Roberto Madrigal.
Stolis Pro (Stoli-Veva Jean), Daring And Dashing (First Down Dash-Splendifferous), JRC Callas First (Winners Award-Calla Missy Jane), The Field Cricket (Lead The Field-Quick Lil Cricket), If I Were Famous (One Famous Eagle- Runnin Oner Mind), Brookstone Dash (Brookstone Bay-Classic Guitar) & Corona Continental (Coronas Leaving You-Pick Six Pixie) completed the order of finish.

ALLURING LIL MENACE

Alluring Lil Menace became a stakes winner
in the $20,000 Miss Sam Houston Stakes for accredited Texas-bred fillies and mares, three-year- olds and upward, on March 31.
The 4-year-old gray filly rose to the challenge, having not raced since last November, with an inspiring effort from the 4-post. She leaped from the gate in third under jockey Luciano Duenez. The pair battled and dueled the others for the lead, especially the favorite, Barefoot Beach, who seemed particu- larly keen on taking the winner’s share. Alluring Lil Menace led the field when it counted and finished strong, covering the 330-yard fast track in :16.653 to earn a career high speed index of 99.
Alluring Lil Menace’s first stakes win brought her the $12,000 winner’s share of the purse for owner Almada Racing and trainer Josue Ponce. The win brings the filly’s lifetime earnings to $28,315.
Scarlett Hill Farm Inc. bred Alluring Lil Menace out of Special Menace Miss in Texas. Unraced, she has produced 100% money earners from 2 starters, including TQHA Sale Futurity-RG2 winner/top earner Miss Alluring Menace.
Barefoot Beach (Ivory James-Babe On The Beach) dueled, but was outfinished under jockey Noe Villatoro. The 4-year-old filly placed second for owner Samuel Martinez and trainer Judd Kearl.
Honey Ryder B (Bigtime Favorite-LS Honey Brown) finished third under jockey Rodrigo Vallejo for owners Matt and Cheri Cranmore and trainer Judd Kearl.
Political Dynasty (Apollitical Jess-Perfection), SR Esmeralda (Red Storm Cat-Lets Get Fiscal), DM Maryanna (The Louisiana Cartel-Mary La Jolla), Shakem Valentine (Royal Shake Em-Relagation), Josefina Cruzin (Down N Dash-Cruzin Apollo), Kool Deal (Dealagame-Madam Kool) completed the field.
