Corona Kool Handicap

Jess Ravin sailed into her fifth stakes victory, winning the 350-yard $15,000 Corona Kool Handicap for 3-year-old & older fillies & mares at Los Alamitos on Mar. 18.
The conditions were perfect with a clear sky, a fast track and no wind when Jess Ravin broke well from the 7-post. The 4-year-old sorrel filly was third at the start, but was able to dash past the competi- tion at the halfway mark.
She and jockey Jesus Ayala flew to the wire to win by 3/4-length in :17.578, earning a 94 speed index. Jess Ravin deposited the $8,250 winner’s share for owner EG High Desert Farms, boosting her lifetime earnings to $128,691.
With eight victories from 14 starts, her other stakes wins include the Las Damas Handicap-G3, La Pacifica Handicap, Vandy’s Flash Handicap, and most recently the Flare For Toby Handicap where she dominated the field from start to finish.
You And Me Partners bred Jess Ravin out of graded stakes placed winner Jessica Ravin. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 11 starters, including her top money earner Jess Cuervo, winner of the Lovington Stakes-G2, and New Track Record setter/Grade 3 winner Paintyourownwagon.
Unfinished Biz (Captain Courage-Big Bizooms) broke on top and held in second under Rodolfo Arvizu for owner Kirk Goodfellow and trainer Christopher O’Dell.
Lady Perry On Fire (Walk Thru Fire-Jess Sass Me) finished third under Ruben Lozano for owner McColee Land And Livestock and trainer Paul Jones.
All Right Now (FDD Dynasty-Already In
Love), Apollitical Dasher (Apollitical Jess-Brazillian Dasher), Sorelli (Brookstone Bay-Cupids Special Fly), Perky (Walk Thru Fire-Moonlight Corona), Give Me Sum Sugar (Good Reason SA-The Goodbye Kisser) completed the field.
