2017 Executive Committee
At the 2017 APHA Convention, the APHA Executive Committee for 2017 was sworn
in to their new positions. Hotwiredotcom Races To Victory
Hotwiredotcom, a 2015 brown tobiano gelding by CRM Livewire out of Iwilliewantarunner (QH), won the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity

PHQ Goodbye Earl Races To Victory
Congratulations are also in order for PHQ Goodbye Earl for winning the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Derby on March 25. PHQ Goodbye Earl is a 2014 sorrel solid gelding by Awesome Chrome and out of Sayonara. He is owned by Paint Horse Queens of Inola, Oklahoma.

Barrel Burners Cashed In Aboard Flashy Paints
Magic Moon Lark, a 2012 bay tobiano gelding, earned top honors with owner Stacie Stephenson at the Utah Horse Council’s Salty Dash Futurity March 17-19, in South Jordan, Utah. From Blackfoot, Idaho, the team placed fourth in the first go-round and third in the second round – timed at :15.677 and :15.750 respectively. The pair won the overall futurity average and a paycheck worth more than $2,200.
“He just ran really consistent, just did his job,” Stacie said in the March 21 Barrel Racing Report. “He’s pretty business-like. He’s just a natural turner, so he was really easy to train.”
“Magic” is by Darkelly (QH) and out of Roll The Moon, and he was bred by Bosen Land & Livestock of Lewiston, Utah. Before retiring
to the cloverleaf, Magic earned $5,591 as a racehorse along with a record of a stakes win, two seconds, and three thirds in 10 starts.
Another set of flashy winners are Lil Gracie Dude and Tillar Murray, who placed second at the Sandhills Stock Show & rodeo in Odessa, Texas, held Jan. 6-14. The couple won $4,446 with a time of :15.37. Lil Gracie Dude is a 2000 sorrel solid gelding by Smart Lil Crimson and out of Gracies Doll (QH), and he is owned by John Fulton Murry III of Fort Worth, Texas.
The East Coast celebrated a winning duo as well with Magnolia Kit Kat and Jen Bruno, who claimed second in the First Frontier Circuit Finals that were held Jan. 12-14 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. With a combined time of :46.19, they earned $2,237 in winnings. Magnolia Kit Kat is a 2008 black solid mare by Magnolia Bar Jet (QH) and out of Prissy Top Gunner. Jen Bruno owns the mare with Brock Merriman of West Stockholm, New York.
In sunny Arizona, Dash Of Sunbeam clocked in a :17.64 to place third in the Parada Del Sol held in Scottsdale from March 10-12. The 2005 sorrel solid mare rode with her owner Rainy Robinson of Caldwell, Idaho, to win $1,440 at the event. Dash Of Sunbeam is by Streak A Dash (QH) and out of Sunny Golden Beam.
