It was nearly 10:30 p.m. at Indiana Grand Race Course when the gates opened for the 300-yard Gordon Mobley Futurity on June 18.
Heisasgoodasheis stepped away from the 10-post breaking eighth and was in fourth place at the stretch. Rolando Pina was in the irons and made sure Heisasgoodasheis was in a hurry till the end, with the gelding surging to the wire just in time. After
a close finish, the photo showed Heisasgoodasheis a nose in front. The $105,270 winner’s share of the $191,400 purse boosted the sorrel gelding’s earnings to $111,220. His race record is now two wins out of three tries. His previous victory came in the June 4 Gordon Mobley Futurity trials, in which he won his heat for the fastest qualifying time in :15.542.

The beneficiary of his stakes winning effort is owner/trainer/breeder Joe Davis. Heisasgoodasheis was bred in Indiana out of Sheisassheis. The mare is a multiple winner who has produced 100% winners/ROM earn- ers from two starters. Heisasgoodasheis is her top money earner and first stakes winner.
“This is the first stakes win for me and Rolando,” Davis said. “We had
9 horses last year and we now have 28. We are excited about the future. Heisasgoodasheis didn’t break good in the trials, but he came from behind to win,” Davis continued. “I wasn’t crazy about the 10-post position in the finals, but this horse keeps surprising me. This is a home-raised horse and we are pointing him at the Roxy (Miss Roxy Little Futurity) in September or maybe to Prairie Meadows mid-summer.”
Fernando Fonseca-Soto was aboard
Kid Cartel (Kool Quick Kid-Cartels
Glass Sliper), who finished second. They
dug in and ended up a nose back. That
team includes owner Craig Zeneberg and trainer Anthony Cunningham. Jess Jace (Palm Beach-Flashin Dee Dee) came in
third after a brushed start. His connections include owner Sheri Miller and trainer Randy Smith. Rodney Prescott was in the saddle. Followed by Powerfull Stone (Brimmstone- Invisible Power), HH Kentucky Krome (La Jollaroid-Shakem Jake), First Cucuy (Jazz
Be First-First Mansini Dash), Beach Zoomer (Escondido Beach-Chicks Sweet Donna), Jazz C Gal (Jazz Be First-Eyes On Sara) WH Whole Lottashaken (First To Shake Six-Fast Mans Dash) and I Am The First (Jazz Be First-Sheza Regal Gal).

DNA DALES PROSPECT
by Danny Camp
The $130,600 Jaguar Rocket Futurity was held at Indiana Grand Race Course on June 18. DNA Dales Prospect was the best of the field and made his race record two-for-two with this victory. He won his June 4 trial heat by 1 1/2-length, his only other start, for the second fastest qualifying time.
In the finals DNA Dales Prospect broke from the 8-post and veered to the inside, but quick hands by Berkley
Packer righted the ship and
the jockey started to encour-
age his mount.
Halfway down the track, with his maturity showing, DNA Dales Prospect coasted to a head victory. He stopped the timer at :15.681 for the 300-yard contest, earning a speed index of 91. With first place check of $71,830, the gelding now has a bankroll worth $74,580.

“Dna Dales Prospect pulled up good after his easy win in the trials and after the finals also,” stated trainer Randy Smith. “This horse was slow coming into himself, but he seemed to bloom about trial time. He is a pleasure to be around and is a laid back kind of guy like all champions. He is a good ride in the mornings and is good in the gates. We felt like Berkley
many starters. DNA Dales Prospect is her first stakes winner and top earner, but the mare is also the dam of two additional stakes placed horses, DNA Sweet Dale and DNA Dales Quick Cat.
CB Come Fly With Me (Desirio-Miss Scarlet) was 2nd under Rolando Pina for owner Carolyn Bruce and trainer Joe M. Davis. Coming on strong at the end under Rodney Prescott o finish 3rd was Chics Dirty Secret (No Secrets Here-Chics Gotta Have Fun) for owners Keith Bode & Deborah A. Smith and trainer Randy Smith. Followed by American Purr (American Runaway-This Cat Purrs), Jes A Spitfire (Walk Thru Fire-Jess Delightful), Dashin To Fame (Okey Dokey Dale-Hit The High Note), Run Run Corona (Cartel Success- Run Kita Run), Flyhichicky (Jumpn Chic-Fly Mama Fly) & Wh Secretive (No Secrets Here- Strawflyin Fitness). Packer would fit
this horse so we went with him in the finals and we made the right call. The owners, DNA Quarter Horses LLC, are a pleasure to work for and they have been in the busi- ness a long time. This horse was bred and raised by Noel Alexander, and next down the road is the SSA Futurity here at Indiana Downs.”
