alltheshine is close to achieving her own version of the triple crown. The filly owned by Movin On won a very close Dutch Masters III Futurity on June 24 at Jerome County Fair. With her victory in the $25,883 stakes, Alltheshine now has successfully com- pleted the first two legs of the Dutch Masters
lifetime earnings.
While Alltheshine finished first in the
Gem County by a half-length, this latest futurity was a nail-biter all the way to the
wire. Although Alltheshine led at every call of the 350 yards, Bekas Ima Snazzysign battled with her the entire race. Those two horses broke first and second, side by side from the Nos. 4 and 5 gates. Alltheshine led by a neck at
first call, still was in front by a head going into the stretch, then held off one last push by her rival to reach the wire first by a nose.
Trained by Guy Weeks, Alltheshine finished in :17.729 for a 102 speed index. Jockey Dallas Erickson was aboard the filly, a heavy 2-5 favorite at the betting windows.
Grant Farms LLC
bred Alltheshine out of Menoalamo, a lightly-raced
2001 mare owned by Jaime Gomez. Menoalamo has six foals, three of whom have made starts. Alltheshine remains the only stakes winner of those offspring.
Bekas Ima Snazzysign (Devons Signature- Snazzy Be Kas), the runner-up, is owned by Kelly and Kyle Cook. The Monty Arrossa trainee had Nikeela Black in the irons. William Clyde (Mr Fancy Fame-A Perfect Strawberry) hit the board in third by a neck. William Fox is the owner and Jim Fox is the trainer. Jose Guzman was aboard.
The remaining order of finish was Pappadeano (Pappasito-Proud Moon Bug), LS Little Sam (Cashin Man-A Special Wonder), RNL Need A Move (Maknmoves- Needaexitnow), Feeling The Jump (Jumpn- Stuckonafeeling) and One Corona Kid (One Corona-Movin Susie).

at a very steady rate. The filly hauled in a career-high $10,353 payday for her latest victory. That, and the $7,146 prize for winning the Gem County Futurity—the first leg of the Dutch Masters triple crown—represent the vast bulk of her $18,309

minnesota stallion Breeders’ Futurity
Hada CeRtaIn CHaRm
by John Moorehouse
Hada Certain Charm went into the Minnesota Stallion Breeders’ Futurity-R as the overwhelming favorite. The official
record shows that the gelding lived up to that billing with a first-place finish. In reality, though, Hada Certain Charm emerged from
a thrilling and extremely close battle with one of his stablemates to tally his first win in stakes company and second in three total outs.
Owned by Leo Butell and Mike Schau, Hada Certain Charm looked like the class of the field by posting an :18.169 time during qualifying—put- ting the gelding at the top of the ladder with a time that was almost a full half-second quicker than No. 2 qualifier Shes Zoomin Whiz.
During the futurity, Hada Certain Charm got off to a fantastic break from the 10 hole but quickly yielded the
lead to Fly Eyeann, who remained in front going into the stretch. Fly Eyeann still looked to be in good shape during the final yards, but Hada Certain Charm came flying to meet her stablemate at the wire in a photo finish. A lengthy review of the photo determined that Hada Certain Charm won by a nose.
Both Hada Certain Charm and Fly Eyeann are trained by Ed Hardy. Nik Goodwin was
aboard Hada Certain Charm, who covered the 350 yards in :17.934, setting a new stakes record. Butell and Schau col- lected $20,700 for the stakes win. Hada Certain Charm’s total earnings stand at $22,590.
It marked the third time Hardy had saddled the win- ner of this stakes event.
Butell also bred LK Classy Perk, the dam of Hada Certain Charm. The stakes- placed mare has produced
two stakes winners among five starters. Classy Dashin won the 2007 Northlands Futurity.
Fly Eyeann (Fly Jess Fly-Eyzanee)
took runner-up honors for owner Rodney Von Ohlen. Thomas Wellington was aboard. Hastabealeader (Hasta Be Fast- Leadmetoyourladder), a 20-1 longshot, finished well clear in third for owner Gloria Myers and trainer Robert Johnson. Clyde Smith did the riding.
The remaining order of finish was Shes Zoomin Whiz (Zoomin For Bux-Brandi Whiz), Cat Scratchen (Panther Mountain-Santorin), JJ Glide To Glory (Its Royal Time-JJ Sophisticated Sis), L Valentino (Its Royal Time-Valentine Leader), Gamblen Man (Sweet First Down-EJ Im No Gamble), Angel Flyin Knud (Knud With Wings-Strawflyin Magic) and Juiced On Corona (High On Corona-JC Juice).
