Nine participants, ages three and older, were entered into the eleventh edition of
the Maiden Stakes, seeking to add their first stakes win to their record. For this endeavor, owners paid a fee of $33,000 pesos (approx. $1,668 US), which was the substantive part of forming the purse of $397,000 pesos (approx. $20,062 US), with the race held at 350 yards on March 1.
Cuadras Baldeli and Santa Elena had two participants each in the race. Newcomer BP Southern Eagle and One Mc Fling represented Cuadra Baldeli, being chosen favorites at the betting windows, and closing with 0.70 odds. Their performance on the track endorsed the preference received, as they occupied first and second place at the finish line with BP Southern Eagle in front under the command of Aarón Adrián Gómez.
It was a significant race for the horse, stable, and rider. BP Southern Eagle, a five year old, debuted at Hipodromo de las Américas after successful campaigns on the lanes in the Mexican southeast, mainly in the State of Chiapas, where he is known as “El Centenario.” For the recently created Cuadra Baldeli, this was their first stakes win, and also for rider Aarón Adrián Gómez, also a native of the State of Chiapas.
The winning horse ran the distance
in :17.24, for a 93 speed index, opening
his earnings account with $198,500 pesos (approx. $10,031 US). Bred in the United States by Bill Price, he is a son of One Dashing Eagle and out of BP Shes Southern by Southern Cartel. He is trained by José Guadalupe García and saddled by Liderme René Gómez Díaz.
One Mc Fling (One Dashing Eagle-Southern Fling) came 1/2-length behind his paternal brother and stablemate, taking second place under the direction of José Ángel Ambrosio Medina. Likewise, Liderme René Gómez Díaz saddled him.
Keep Counting (Kiddy Up-Million Ways) finished third under Arturo Romero for owner Cuadra Par de Ases and trainer Gregorio Alberto Razo Parra.
Thompson Bay (Favorite Cartel-Flying Regal), Card Trix (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Play Your Card), The King Of Thieves (Takin On Spoon Man-Runaway Speed Queen), Bro Hits Too (Foose-Sis Hits), Tapestri (Favorite Cartel- Jess Genuine) and Successful Flight (Cartel Success-Copafly) completed the order of finish.

en la pista avaló la preferencia recibida, pues ocuparon la primera y segunda posición en la meta con BP Southern Eagle al frente, bajo el mando de Aarón Adrián Gómez.
Significativa la carrera para el caballo, su cuadra y el jinete. BP Southern Eagle, con cinco años de edad, debutó en el Hipódromo de
Las Américas después de exitosas campañas en carriles del sureste mexicano, principalmente en el Estado de Chiapas, donde se le conoce como “El Centenario”. Para la Cuadra Baldeli, de reciente creación, fue su primer clásico ganado, e igualmente para el jinete Aarón Adrián
Gómez, también nativo del Estado de Chiapas.
El potro ganador agotó la distancia en 17.24 segundos, para un SI de 93, abriendo su cuenta de ganancias con $198,500 pesos ($10,031 US aproximadamente). Criado en los Estados Unidos por Bill Price, es hijo de One Dashing Eagle en BP Shes Southern (por Southern Cartel). Es entrenado por José Guadalupe García y lo
ensilló Liderme René Gómez Díaz. One Mc Fling (One Dashing Eagle –
Southern Fling), llegó medio largo atrás de su hermano paterno y compañero de cuadra, quedándose con el segundo lugar, bajo la dirección de José Ángel Ambrosio Medina. Igualmente, lo ensilló Liderme René Gómez Díaz.
Para el tercer lugar concluyó la potranca Keep Counting (Kiddy Up – Million Ways), apoyada por Arturo Romero. Es propiedad de la Cuadra Par de Ases y la ensilló Gregorio Alberto Razo Parra.
