When we look back in the pedigree of Special Effort, we see that he serves as an outcross on horses like Three Bars TB and Top Deck TB. If we go back far enough into his pedigree, we see familiar Thoroughbred names like Broomstick, Sweep, Fair Play, Chicaro, and Stephan The Great. We also find these horses in the pedigrees of Thoroughbreds like Top Deck, Three Bars and Depth Charge as sources of speed for the American Quarter Horse.
