CB COME FLY WITH ME
by Danny Camp
Good things come to those who wait. Rider Rolando Pina did the waiting and CB Come Fly With Me did the running. The 350-
yard QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity, worth $192,739, was run on a muddy, sealed track on Aug. 27. CB Come Fly With Me was the favorite in the finals and deservedly so. The filly was the fastest qualifier, winning her Aug. 13 trial by 2 1/2-lengths. In
the finals, she stepped away from the 8-post with Pina sit- ting still waiting for the finish line. They crossed the wire in :17.594, good for a 98 speed index. With the first place check worth $106,006, CB Come Fly With Me has now earned a total of $138,276.
The bay filly is owned/ bred by Carolyn Bruce and trained by Joe Davis. Bruce bred CB Come Fly With Me in Indiana out of 2-time
winner Miss Scarlet, who has produced 100% money earners from four starters, including multiple stakes winner and top money earner Stinkin Rich.
“She ran a great trial race and came back in the finals with the same kind of performance. trainer Joe Davis said. “She pulled up good,
is sound and eating good. She is a small filly
with a big heart.”
“She is a witch to be
around in the barn area and can be somewhat nervous.” he added, “It took us four hours to load her in the gate the first time, but since then horses can flip on either side of her and she’s a rock.”
According to Rolando Pena, “This filly is hyper to gallop, but once she gets going she’s good. I give lots of credit to her groom because trainer Joe Davis said he spends lots of
time with her keeping her quiet. I’ve only had to push her one time. That was in the finals of the Jaguar and we got caught at the wire.”
WRS Whoseyourdaddy (Big Daddy Cartel- WRS Kool Jess) finished 2nd under Omar Reyes for owner Deborah A. Smith and trainer Randy M. Smith. Tres Seis Delight (Agouti-Tres Seis Diamond) finished 3rd under Cesar Esqueda for owner Pattie Marshall, Roger Cyrulik and Jimmy Jackson and trainer Anthony Cunningham.
HH Kentucky Krome (La Jollaroid-Shakem Jake), Zoomin B Cartel (The Louisiana Cartel- Zoomin Zoey B), Dnachrystalisfighter (Fighter On Fire-Floyds Chrystal Bell), Beach Zoomer (Escondido Beach-Chicks Sweet Donna), Cartels Justice (Streakin Six Cartel-Royal Quick Kory), First Cucuy (Jazz Be First-First Mansini Dash) and Jess Jace (Palm Beach-Flashin Dee Dee) completed the field.

FAST PRIZE TACITA
by Michael Compton
Making just her third career start, Fast Prize Tacita broke her maiden in the $152,070 Double Gold Futurity at Prairie
Meadows on Sept. 3.
Ridden by Stormy Smith, Fast Prize
Tacita broke alertly in the 350-yard fixture, grabbing the lead away from the gate. In a powerful effort, she exploded through the lane, darting 2-lengths clear of her rivals and crossed the finish line 1
1/4-lengths to the good in a wire-to-wire effort.
Fast Prize Tacita covered the distance in :17.739 and earned an 89 speed index for owners John Lawless and Joe Morgan. Brent Clay trains the filly.
The $60,828 winner’s share of the purse boosted her total lifetime bankroll to $65,826. The filly flashed plenty of promise in her first
two starts entering the finals of the Iowa Double Gold Futurity.
First Prize Tacita finished third, in the Aug. 20 trial heat, clenching the eighth fastest qualifier spot following a second place finish in her career debut at Remington Park in a maiden race on April 28.
Fast Prize Tacita was bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith out of
the winning mare Fast Prize Corona. She has produced 100% money earners from 17 starters, including top money earner/Grade 1 winner CR Tuckernuck and Grade 2 win- ner Spit Like Jagger.
Race favorite Marypaintyourwagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Marys Southernpolicy) was seeking her third consecutive win and fourth overall but was forced to settle for second under
Jorge Torres. The fastest qualifier is owned by Leann J. Burns and is trained by Stacy Charette-Hill.
Kates Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Pretty Girl Kate) overcame an awkward start and rallied strong late to finish third under Oscar Delgado. The Oklahoma Bred filly, races for JK Running Horses, LLC, is trained by Kenny Laymon.
Little Spit Girl (Spit Curl Jess-Bosanova Baby) finished fourth and was followed by I Put It On Ya (Carters Cartel-Worth A Look), Get There (Fantastic Corona Jr-Jess Racy Eyes), Damn Fast Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon-First A Princess), Pop Your Cork (Coronas Prospect-Jess A Lil Twisted), MT Money Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon-MT Turbo) and Streakin Folly (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Streakin Rare).
