The story of Beduino (Romany Royal-Jo-Ann-Cat, Rejected) begins with his breeder Don Justo Fernandez Sr. of Mexico. Beduino was sold by Fernandez as a yearling
to a family friend and raced around the turn, but his powerful speed proved to be
a problem when he found it difficult to hold his path around the hook. Beduino was repurchased by Fernandez, who eliminated the turn when he began racing the colt in match races against Quarter Horses. It was reported that Beduino ran 53 match races with 50 wins.
