MELOVEMETWO

They say, the older the violin, the sweeter the music. That was the situation for the 440-yard $25,000
Q Racing Journal Stakes at Lone Star Park on Nov. 6. Although Melovemetwo wasn’t the oldest in the race, she was close to the oldest and she was the sweetest. Melovemetwo stepped away from the 1-post and quickly went to the front when G. R. Carter Jr. offered a gentle right handed encouragement. She won by a neck, cross- ing the line in a time of :21.620 to earn a speed index
of 90. The first place money of $11,750 makes her total earnings $84,909 and her race record stands at 11 wins. She has won three out of her last four outs.
Melovemetwo was brought to the races by owner David R. Robinson and trainer Cindi Keeton, bred in Texas by Bobby G Briscoe. Melovemetwo is out of Pats Special Rose, who has produced 100% winners/ AAAT Runners from her 2 starters. Melovemetwo, who is her highest money earner and first stakes winner, also set a New Track Record for 110 yards at Will Rogers Downs.
Trainer Cindi Keeton ran first and second in the race as Rocket And Roll (Corona Cartel-Apollitical Time) was second best from the start to finish. His team includes owner Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and rider L. Martinez. The photo showed Charvet (One Famous Eagle-Bloomingdales) was up for third place money under Esgar Ramirez for owner Crowson Racing and trainer Dennis Crowson.
Sophies Special (Visionarian-Special Lassie), Play Harder (Furrtreeous-Kitty D Ville), Eyesa Rowdy Shazoom (Shazoom-Eyesa Ten), NCC Anchorman (Carters Cartel-Royal Down Jolla), Im The Key (Shazoom-Royal Classic Chick), & I Bleed Red (Red Storm Cat-Secret In Stone) completed the order of finish. Your Linus scratched.

EC CARTEL
by John Moorehouse
EC Cartel overcame a bumpy beginning to win by daylight in the $25,000 Q-Racing Video Distance Stakes held Nov. 6 at Lone Star Park.
Alejandra Carrion owns EC Cartel, a six-year-old gelding who notched his first win in stakes company and sixth overall victory in 18 starts. EC Cartel came into this race with four runner-up finishes and three third-place efforts in stakes competition.
EC Cartel got bumped while breaking from the No. 5 gate, but with champion jockey G.R. Carter Jr. aboard, the gelding stayed on course and ran
a close second going into the stretch. EC Cartel then grabbed the lead and pulled away, sporting a 1 1/4-length margin of victory as he hit the wire.
Steven Kearl trains EC Cartel, who finished the 870-yard event in :45.242, registering a 101 speed index. Carrion banked a $12,250 payday, which improved the lifetime earnings of EC Cartel to $64,570.
Enrique Carrion bred EC Cartel and owns his dam, Twayna Too, a 1994 mare who went winless in three outs. Twayna Too has seven offspring, six of whom have made starts. EC Cartel becomes the sec- ond member of the brood to win a stakes race. The other is It Makes Too, a half-brother to EC Cartel who tallied his lone stakes victory in Mexico.
Jessa Little Rusty (Mr Jess Perry-Rustys Quickid), finished second for owner Louis Howard. Trainer Jose Cruz had Omar Reyes aboard. Fire On The
Fly (Jet Cartel-Shades Of Pink TB) placed third for Bullard Farms. Raul Gutierrez was in the irons.
The Field Cricket (Lead The Field-Quick Lil Cricket), Stolis Pro (Stoli-Veva Jean), Jack Ketel (Ketel-Sheza Moon Bar Baby) and Ivory Owl (Ivory James-Seattle Style TB) completed the field. Cjs Rocksolid scratched.
