The eleventh race on Dec. 9 was the classic in honor of the horseman Héctor Roldán Espinosa, where eight horses three years and older of Mexican breeding participated at a distance of 330 yards. The classic had purse of $308,700 pesos ($15,055 US approx.).
The participants, three years and up showed competitive advantage due to their records and experi- ence in these types
of races, which was
confirmed on the track.
The start was clean for
all, where the delay of
BR Chivali South was
noted, determining his
position in the rear of
the group when passing
the goal. In contrast,
Dancer Fishers, Lafishingonabugsmoon and Takin Six Glory, had excellent initial per- formances, setting the pace of the race and alternating the lead between them. In the final yards ,Lafishingonabugsmoon clearly
imposed his powerful stride under the com- mand of Francisco Javier Fernandez, beating Dancer Fishers by 1/2-length and Takin Six Glory by a neck.
The 5-year-old grey gelding finished the distance in :16.32 for a 95 speed index. The
win marked his sixth victory in 26 starts, of which he also finished second nine times and three times in third. His triumphs include the Enrique Carrión Álvarez and Salvador Oñate Classics.
Roberto Roldán represented his grandfather, Don Héctor Roldán Espinosa, during the ceremony in the winner’s circle.
A son of Nofishinonafullmoon and out of the mare A Special Ladybug by My Mr Special Bug, the winner was bred in Reynosa,
Tamaulipas, by Ramiro González Ozuna for his Cuadra Los Gavilanes, where he is trained by Rubén Romo García. For this win, they added $185,220 pesos ($9,033 US approx.), exceeding the one million pesos in their earnings account.
Winner of the Velocidad Classic in the current season, the colt Dancer Fishers (Ze Dancer-Natalia Fishers) finished in second place with his jockey José Manuel Cisneros for owner Humilde Ranch, where he is trained by Oscar García Archundia.
Takin Six Glory (Glory Six-Takin Care) finished in third supported by Alejandro Gómez for Rancho Victoria and trainer Fernando Enríquez Márquez.
Also participated: RD Native (Native Cartel–Red Gucci Shoes), Puente Villa (Natovas Prince–Some Kinda Dreamer), Cuzamar (He Be Jess Special–Almeria), Super Tres Shiney (Xplorador–First Shiney Native) and BR Chivali South (Southern Corona–Chivali Go).
