Among N Voices connections are Héctor Pablo Salinas, Marlon Abraham Quezada, Juan Arroyo, Iván Alcántara Estrada, Juan Carlos and Rocio Alvarado. Special guest Moisés González Garcia (with trophy in hand) also joined them in the winner’s circle.
Association of Horse Breeders and Quarter Horse Riders, which appointed him Champion Rider for Points and Champion Rider for Classics.
In 2014, “Moy” significantly reduced his number of starts at the track to only 123 and managed to take to the winner’s circle Chico Horse in the Garañones Derby (via disquali- fication of Chimpa Dancer), NC Rose in the Garañones Futurity and Loose Teller in the Juvenile Championship.
The two following seasons he made fewer starts. In 2015, he was suspended on Aug.
23 and returned to ride Sept. 11, 2016. Even so, in 2015, he captured the AQHA Distaff Challenge with the filly Volcoms Heart; the Revelation Clasico with the sorrel Tessta Rossa, as well as the Garañones Futurity Consolation with Im Native Princess. Returning in 2016, already in the last third of the season, he won the consolation of the Selecta Auction Futurity with Sola Zevi and the Mexican Bred Juvenile Challenge with the filly La Escuincle.
In the 2017 season, fortune did not favor Moisés and the only race that went towards his statistics was the Félix Bañuelos Jiménez Clasico with the filly Cruzin And Boozin.
In 2018, his last race was on Dec. 2 in the
trials to the Mexican Breeders Futurity, where he rode Master Air, Bloodmoon Garoo AT
and Y She Left, in that order, achieving the qualification of the last two to the Consolation. Previously, he accredited the Mexico Futurity and a second place in the Garañones with the filly One Rainbow. He also won the consola- tion of the Selecta Auction Futurity with the colt Gato Mexicano.
Moisés Molina practiced his profession riding in the Hipódromo de las Américas and in several tracks of the Mexican Republic, where he was very appreciated. It was in Carril de Parácuaro, State of Guanajuato, on Dec. 8, after crossing the finish line as the winner with the horse named “El Polvito,” that the horse lost his balance while slowing down and lost Moy. The jockey’s vertebral column was severely damaged. The next day, he underwent a long and complicated sur- gery, but 24 hours later passed away on Dec. 10th. Rest in peace and glory.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Cuevas (who is expecting their first child), his parents Antonio Molina and Rosa Romo,
as well as his brothers Marcos, Abel and Adriana Molina Romo.
The jockeys paid tribute to Moises Molina via a well-deserved and merited recognition of their absent comrade.
