1949 Champion Stallion Diamond Bob’s official AQHA record shows that he had 23 starts with five wins, seven seconds and five thirds and earnings of $3,697. His record shows that he was stakes placed in three races with a second in the 1951 State Fair Stallion Stakes, a second in the 1951 Del Rio Feature and a third in the 1949 New Mexico State Fair Championship.
Flying Bob has just two more
official stakes horses - 1949 Eagle Pass Championship winner Mayflower W, and 1949 Peter McCue Handicap winner Shu Shu Baby Doll.
Another horse by Flying Bob, Punkin, has an interesting history. Punkin was brought to Texas by Mrs. M. G. Michaelis Jr. Helen Michaelis was an early Secretary for the AQHA whose task was to verify many of the early pedigrees to get horses registered. Punkin has an official race record of five starts with two wins and three seconds, but what sets her apart
is that she is one of two mares to beat the great Leo in their race in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Leo’s unofficial record shows that he ran 22 races with 20 wins.
1961 Champion Stallion Breeze Bar is out of Watch Breeze by Bob Randle by Flying Bob. Bob Randle is out of an unregistered mare named Miss Bob by Flying Bob. The race record of Breeze Bar shows he had 69 starts with 16 wins, nine seconds and 15 thirds and earnings of $34,394. He set a World Record for 400 yards at Los Alamitos in :19.90. Breeze Bar is the sire of 197 starters, 83 ROM, six stakes winners and
13 stakes placed runners who have earned $379,600. His leading money earner is Miss Parr Bar, earner of $40,413.
Breeze Bar may best be remembered
for two daughters, Camptown Girl who
is the dam of 1977 Champion Gelding, 1977 Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding, 1978 Champion 3-Year-Old Gelding and 1980 Champion Aged Gelding Town Policy. He has earned $862,180. The other daughter, Miss Breeze Bar, is the dam of horses like Fast Jet, the sire of Rare Jet who is the sire of 2-time World Champion Refrigerator, who also earned eight divisional Championships. Miss Breeze Bar is the third dam of 1989 World Champion, 1988 Champion 2-Year- Old Filly, 1989 Champion 3 Year Old, Champion 3-Year-Old Filly See Me Do It.
We could go on listing winners and horses with ties to Flying Bob, as there are many others. But we will stop here as we have shown that he was a dominant force
in Quarter Horse racing in the 1940’s. This makes Flying Bob a true Cajun influence on modern Quarter Horse racing.
Miss Breeze Bar by Breeze Bar is the dam of 2-time Champion Howdy Jones. She is also the dam of Fast Jet, the sire of Rare Jet, the sire of 2-time World Champion Refrigerator.
                                   Refrigerator
Refrigerator returns after his 1990 All American Futurity victory.
    See Me Do It
World Champion, 3-time Champion See Me Do It, shown winning the 1990 All American Gold Cup, traces to her third dam Miss Breeze Bar by Breeze Bar.
