Under G. R. Carter Jr., Bigg Daddy bob-

Tuscan Redd. Bigg Daddy is her second stakes winner and top earner.
“This is a really nice horse and Wes has done a great job with him, I just happened
to come along at the right time,” said G. R. Carter in his humble way.
“If you take a close look at him, his conformation, that’s what a horse is supposed to look like. He’s good in the gates and he runs hard,” he continued. “He didn’t get
away the best, but he gave it up down the track. He likes his job and we are looking for- ward to the All American Derby trials.”
Frankie James (Jesse James Jr-Fabulous Form) and Adrian Ramos finished in second place for owner Bella A. Valenzuela and trainer Juan Gonzalez.

by Michael Cusortelli
Political Attraction scored his fourth stakes win in the $801,564 Rainbow Derby-G1 at Ruidoso Downs on July 21.
Racing for Rogelio Marquez Jr. and Kathy
Robinson, Political Attraction broke well from the gates, was in third position at the first call, and crossed the wire 1-length in front. The gelding covered his 440 yard stakes winning trip in :21.092 while earning a lifetime-best 103 speed index.
Jockey James Flores rode the sorrel gelding for trainer Josue Ponce.
The gelding survived both a stewards’ inquiry into the start and late stretch as well as a rider’s objection alleging interference late in the stretch.
Political Attraction was coming off a 1/2-length vic- tory in the July 8 trials.
Political Attraction has now won eight of his 13
races, and the $336,657 winner’s share of the $801,564 Rainbow Derby-G1 purse increased his earnings to $676,563.
The gelding’s current winning streak includes a 1/2-length score in the 400-yard $69,500 Boyd Morris Memorial Stakes at Remington Park on May 28.
As a two year old, Political Attraction banked $273,017 from seven races, and his four wins included victories in the $276,901
Black Gold 350 Futurity-RG3 at Will Rogers Downs and
in the $214,000 Speedhorse Futurity-G3 at Fair Meadows at Tulsa. He broke his maiden in the trials to the Speedhorse Futurity, winning his heat by 1 3/4-lengths.
Political Attraction’s record of 13-8(4)-1-1(0) also includes a third place finish in last year’s 350-yard $50,000 Easy Jet Stakes-RG3 at Remington Park.
