Making his first start since capturing the Bank of America Sam Houston Challenge-G2 in April, Jess Bein The Hero registered the seventh
stakes win of his career, scoring in the $15,925 Rocky Heinzig Stakes at Fair Meadows on July 27. With Jorge Linares aboard, Jess Bein The Hero
dueled throughout in the 350-yard contest. Sent off as the even-money favorite in a contentious field
of nine, Jess Bein The Hero battled with Eye Eye Captain and jockey Rolando Raudales the length of the lane, defeating that rival by a neck at the finish. Jess Bein the Hero stopped the timer in :17.547, earning a 96 speed index for trainer Josue Ponce in winning his fifth consecutive race and fourth stakes during that span.
Owned by Juan Martinez-Labastida, Jess Bein The Hero, a 2-time graded stakes winner, improved his overall record to a stellar 13-10(7)-2(2)-0 and increased his earnings to $152,870.
Curtis Crenwelge bred Jess Bein The Hero out of graded stakes-placed Jess Braggin. She has produced 100% money earners from eight starters, including Braggin Bout My Zoom, who was second in the 2012 Firecracker Futurity-G2, and Braggin N Dashin, who was third in the 2014 Par A Dice Stakes.
Eye Eye Captain (Captain Courage-Eye My Alexis) and Rolando Raudales were second for owner David Clonts and trainer Guillermo Valdivia.
SR Fly Baby (FDD Dynasty-Once Upon A Fly) finished third under Gonzalo Gutierrez for owner Glacia Fagan and trainer Manuel Mata.

G.C.F.A. Firecracker Futurity
CADILLAC CASH

Cadillac Cash notched his first stakes win in the $84,250 G.C.F.A. Firecracker Futurity at Gillespie County Fairgrounds on July 21.
Cadillac Cash broke second from the 4-post and was in the lead at the first call. It was a hard fought battle to get to the finish line, and Jockey Eddie Sanchez knew it was going to be close. He rode hard all the way to cross the wire first, a nose in front. They completed the 350 yards in :17.858, earning a 92 speed index.
The $29,488 winner’s share boosted his total lifetime earnings to $80,954.The colt is owned by Rolando Morales and trained by Elpidio Luna Jr.
Cadillac Cash now has a race record of 3 wins out of 5 races, including a win in his July 8 trial heat. The colt was also third in the 2018 Sam Houston Futurity last April.
Mary & Jack W. Evans Jr. bred Cadillac Cash out of Evans Express, runner-up in the 2011 Sam Houston Futurity-G2. She has produced 100% winners from three starters, including 2016 TQHA Futurity winner Here Comes Callan. Cadillac Cash is her second stakes winner and top earner.
Dashing Sweet Brujo (Dash Master Jess- Shazooms Sweet Bruja) and Noe Suarez came in second for owner A/J C Racing and trainer Jonathan Castaneda.
Who He Me (Heza Fast Dash-Fance Loretta) was third under J. Ramirez for owner Valerie Moya and trainer Elpidio Luna Jr.
Fastest qualifier Bonita De Capi (Capo De Capi-Dashin Bonita) was fourth and was followed
by Featuring Ivory (Ivory James-Featuring Jessie), Dashingtobfamous (Bodacious Dash-One Famous Totty B), Catha (Tres Seis-Im Stealing The Show), Jet Black King (Jet Black Patriot-Billyjeanthequeen), RJs Cosmo (Cosmograph-Teller The Girl) and The Action Queen (Quick Action TB-Billie Dean Queen).
Zoetis ALB Distance Challenge
ZOOMIN RACER

Zoomin Racer kept his local record perfect as the 5-year-old gelding sprinted to a 3/4-length victory in the $53,370 AQHA Zoetis Albuquerque Distance Challenge Stakes-G3 at Albuquerque Downs on July 29.
Ridden by Jansen Melancon for owner and trainer Jesus Carrete, Zoomin Racer covered 870 yards in :44.809.
In addition to scoring his fourth win in many outs at Albuquerque, the gelding banked $25,621 and secured a spot in the Nov. 17, $105,000 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship-G1 at Los Alamitos, a race that he won last year when it was run at Prairie Meadows.
Zoomin Racer was bred by AQHA Hall of Fame breeder Jerry Windham. The gelding is one of 2-time stakes winners out of Racing Winner. She has pro- duced 100% money earners from 11 starters, includ- ing 2-time stakes winner Racing Streak. Zoomin Racer is her second stakes winner and top earner.
Zoomin Racer’s season record includes a second-place finish in the 870-yard Remington Park Distance Championship-G2 on June 2. All told, he has won eight of 20 starts, and has banked $163,003 with another stakes win in the 2017 Lone Star Distance Challenge-G3.
Mahoney N Tacklebery (Favorite Cartel- Fountain Bleu) and Isaias Enriquez were second for owner Ben Peterson and trainer Todd Fincher.
Rockin J Running Horses’ Jess A Hilbily Bone (Rock Solid Jess-Imaginiff) finished third under Alejandro Medellin for trainer Tammy Kay Johnson.
Madewell (Jess Jones-Streakin Peacock) ran fourth and was followed by Let There Be Sound (One Famous Eagle-Sakakawea), Rock A Billy (Rock Solid Jess-Imaginiff), Fire Thorn (Shazoom- Reba Macintyler), and El Chirrionero (Heza Motor Scooter-Red Tomacita).
