John Deere Mexico Juvenile Challenge
MY DULCINEA

Through three qualifying races, the 10 final- ists were obtained for this always interest- ing stakes race sponsored by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) as part of its Challenge Program. The final was on July 1 with a purse of $795,700 pesos ($40,059 approx. US) and was run at the 350 yards.
The fastest trial time was obtained by the colt Victorease, breaking his maiden with
the fastest qualifying time of :17.379, mark- ing him the favorite. And indeed, he was an important player with the filly My Dulcinea, since both led the group from start to fin-
ish, where she won under rider Jose Manuel Cisneros by difference of a head after dueling with the colt, winning her second classic of the current season.
My Dulcinea (Favorite Cartel-Mongoose Jet Eye, by Mr Eye Opener) finished the distance in :17.32 for a 95 speed index, dramatically improving the :17.65 that positioned her eighth in the list of 10 finalists after finishing third in her heat behind Victorease and DF Medford.
She was bred in the United States by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP, and auctioned for $16,000 in the 2017 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale where she was purchased by Jose Salazar for current owner Cuadra Valeria. The filly is trained by René Alan Rodriguez Garcia. For this success, she added earnings of $366,022 pesos ($18,427 US approx.) for her second win in three starts, giving her the right to represent Mexico in the Challenge Championships to be held in November at Los Alamitos.
Victorease (One Famous Eagle-All About Ease) was second under José Ángel Ambrosio Medina for owner Cuadra Cartas Blancas and trainer José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar. The colt is the winner of the Chiapas Futurity (unofficial) that takes place at Rancho El Suspiro in the Mexican southeast.
The red bay filly MS Corona Doll (Corona Cartel-Fast Prize Doll) was third under Noel Jesús Hernández for owner Cuadra El Mashta and trainer Antonio De La Rosa López.
The other finalists crossed the finish line in the following order: ENB Sheza Mountain (DMNV Mountable–Sheza Cartel), DF Medford (Apollitical Jess–Parkers Vespa), Carters Calyx (Carters Cartel–Confidential Run), VH Ice (Valiant Hero–Icy Valentine), Madam Fullcharge (Louisiana Senator–Quick Katie Streak), Dans Cartel (Coronado Cartel– IYQ Too), and Notorius Brown (Dash Master Jess–Favored).

El mejor tiempo de calificación lo obtuvo el potro debutante Victorease con 17.379 segun- dos, lo que dio la pauta para marcarlo favorito a ganar. Y en efecto, fue protagonista importante junto con la potranca My Dulcinea, ya que ambos encabezaron al grupo de principio a fin, donde ella resultó vencedora por diferencia de cabeza, soportando todo el terreno el acoso
del potro apoyado por el enrachado jinete José Manuel Cisneros, que de esa manera ganó su segundo clásico de la jornada dominical.
My Dulcinea (Favorite Cartel – Mongoose Jet Eye, por Mr Eye Opener), agotó la distancia en 17.32 segundos (SI 95), mejorando notable- mente los 17.65 segundos que la posicionaron octava en la lista de los 10 finalistas, después de concluir en tercer lugar de su “heat”, detrás del mencionado Victorease y DF Medford.
Fue criada en los Estados Unidos, por el Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP, y subastada en por $16,000 dólares en la 2017 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, donde fue adquirida por
José Salazar para la Cuadra Valeria, su actual propietaria, siendo entrenada por René Alan Rodríguez García. Por este acierto agregó ganancias por $366,022 pesos ($18,427 US aproximadamente), así
como su segundo triunfo en tres partidas, lo que le da derecho a representar a México en los Campeonatos Challenge, a efectuarse en Noviembre próximo en Los Alamitos Race Course.
Victorease (One Famous Eagle – All About Ease) se quedó con el segundo lugar, bajo la dirección de José Ángel Ambrosio Medina, para la Cuadra Cartas Blancas y el entrenador José Ravel Baltazar Aguilar. Es ganador del Futurity Chiapas (no oficial) que se realiza en el Rancho El Suspiro, en el sureste mexicano.
La potranca colorada MS Corona Doll (Corona Cartel – Fast Prize Doll) obtuvo el tercer lugar, bajo la conducción de Noel Jesús Hernández; es propiedad de la Cuadra El Mashta y la ensilló Antonio De La Rosa López.
Los demás finalistas cruzaron la meta en
