Just En King notched the first stakes win of his career with a front-running score in the $200,000 Namehimastreaker New Mexico Classic Championship-RG1 at Zia Park on Nov. 26.
Ridden by Alfredo Sigala, Just En King broke sharply and assumed command of the 10-horse field after the start of the 440-yard test. He maintained a narrow advantage through the lane while receiving pressure from HS Paul Walker. In the final strides, Just En King held off a furious challenge from race favorite Big Crush BB to prevail by a neck at the finish. Big Crush BB and HS Paul Walker finished in a dead heat for second.
Just En King covered the distance in :21.314, earning a speed index of 109 in the impressive victory. The final clocking approached the :20.966 track record established by Brenda Beautiful in 2008.
