CHICKA BOOM BABE

Chicka Boom Babe has been unlucky
in many of her races, but she avoided trouble in the Nov. 26 New Mexico Classic
Futurity-RG2 at Zia Park. That resulted in the first stakes victory of her career.
“The filly ran pretty good,” said trainer Wesley Giles. “She’s always run pretty good trial races. She’s just had trouble putting two together, and she finally did. They’d catch her moving at the wrong time or she’d get bumped. She’s been really unlucky.”
Chicka Boom Babe just missed catching Jumpn Runn in her Futurity trial, a performance that was fast enough to qualify her for the final. Bettors sent her off at 14-1, the sixth price, behind fastest-qualifier Drest For Success, the 5-2 favorite.
Drest For Success had met Chicka Boom Babe once before, in their trial for the Mountain Top Futurity-G2 at Ruidoso Downs. Chicka Boom Babe won that June 2 trial, as Drest For Success finished third.
