racetrack and watching a friend’s horse named Viking King in the Los Alamitos Derby. That was in the late 1970’s. It wasn’t long and he had his own racehorse in a horse named Hurry On Now, an Easy Six mare. This horse, after some wins, sparked his interest and after a hiatus
for business interests, he got back into it in the 1990’s and, as they say, the rest is history. When he got back into racing, he had Curtis Keener training horses for him and when Keener moved to Oklahoma, he asked him to find some land as he wanted to raise some horses. This was the

Yother. We weren’t doing much together but eventually he came on board more and in 2019 Lloyd came in as a partner on my farm. He also bought Nancy’s interest in a lot of the mares that I owned with her. She was not as interested in the breeding aspects and
to go forward with the added expense, Lloyd came into it so we could expand the program.”
The foundation of the broodmare band comes from three mares. The first was Sheeza Lil Val, a mare that was bought
for $5,000 in 1995. She made 19 starts with two wins, five seconds and two thirds earning $19,413 and she was third in the
Mocha coming in second. His next start came in the trials to the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1 at Will Rogers and this time he finished fifth, but still qualified for the finals. When we look at the finals, we see in
the video of the race that it is indicated in the call that he “veered out” and “had a flatfooted start,” still finishing fourth despite the poor start. His two thirds and a fourth earned him the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown High Point Championship.
The partnership of Nancy Yearsley and J. Garvan Kelly are the breeders of Triple L Xpress. He is sired by CRM Livewire and out of Maggie Redmond QH by Wave Carver. The J. Garvan Kelly and Nancy Yearsley partnership has proven successful over the years in that they have bred the winners of over $6.1 million in Quarter Horse racing. They are the Paint Horse breeders of horses that have won over $350,000. Kelly is the person behind the breeding aspect of the partnership. He immigrated from Ireland and became interested in racing after visiting the
