TRANE STATION VSI 97, $154,000
Race Record: 4-2-2-0 • Day 2, Trial 10 – 1st • Trane Station V gets up late to finish by 1/2-length for the eighth fastest qualifying time.
Dashing Tres entered into the All American Futurity trials with only one previous start. That start was a fourth place finish in a 350- yard maiden race at Ruidoso on June 25.
In his All American Futurity trial, Dashing Tres broke towards
the back of the pack in seventh, but grabbed the lead in a couple
of strides and was never headed from that point on. He crossed the finish line with and impressive 2 1/4-lead to grab the seventh spot on the qualifying ladder. Dashing Tres is a homebred for Bob McClure.
Bryan Candanosa has ridden the gelding in both of his starts for trainer Toby Keeton.
McClure bred Dashing Tres out of multiple winner Sissys Tres Girl, who has produced four winners from five starters, including Dashing Tres’ half-brother Apollitical Papa, winner of the Zia Park Championship-G1 and James Isaac Hobbs Stakes-G2. He was also a runner-up in the All American Gold Cup-G1 and Bob Moore Memorial-G2.
Trane Station V has never finished worse than second in his four starts. The brown colt made his first start on May 27 with a second place finish in the Ruidoso Futurity trials and did not qualify for the Grade 1 final. His next start was a 2 1/4-length victory in the Rainbow Futurity trials where he qualified with the seventh fastest time. In the final, he broke in fifth and made a late dash to grab second in a dead heat with One Valiant Love.
Trane Station V broke in fourth from the 5-post in the All American Futurity trials. Ridden by Francisco Calderon, the colt quickly started
gaining on the leader to cross the wire 1/2-length in front to secure the eighth qualifying spot. Trane Station V was bred by Steve D. Burns DVM and is owned by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC. Francisco Calderon has ridden Trane Station V in three of his four starts for trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. The colt was a $130,000 purchase in the 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
