Beduino Prize
SE ADALIDAS QUEST
by Luis Prieto Zamudio, translation by Eduardo Silveyra
Well received by all was the race in honor of the immortal Beduino TB, who
was raised in Mexico. It is said that when he was crossed with Quarter Horse mares – he streaked grey this breed, in particular the racers. The contribution of this grey, however, goes far beyond color.
The Beduino Prize was a 550-yard mixed race, for individuals three years or older. Ten finalists came from the trials, with nine being presented
at the final on Nov. 23, 2019. The purse was $245,000 pesos (approx. US $11,973).
At the start, Gallo Malvado (#6) jumped outwards, visibly hindering Borneo (#7) and Inseperable Sunset (#8), which led to his dis- qualification from third to sixth place.
Except for the above, the race left no doubt about the superiority of the speedy Quarter Horses, which occupied the first three posi- tions at the finish line. Crossing first was the 4-year-old colt SE Adalidas Quest, followed
by Furia Nocturna and Inseperable Sunset. The winner made the journey
in :26.98 for a 112 speed index under the direction of Alejandro Gómez Díaz.
Raised in Mexico by René Montoya, SE Adalidas Quest is by Zest Quest and out of Adalidas Partner, by Panther Mountain. The colt is owned by Cuadra Santa Elena and was saddled by René Liderme Gómez Díaz.
In fifteen outs, the colt has forged five wins, four seconds and two thirds, accumulating dividends of $441,388 pesos, including the $147,000 pesos from this race (approximately $7,184 US).
Furia Nocturna (The Lousiana Cartel- Red Hot Lass) finished in second place, 1
1/4-lengths behind the winner, under José Ángel Ambrosio Medina. The colt is owned by Cuadra Centenario and trained by Miguel Ángel Hernández García.
Third place went
to Inseperable Sunset (Inseperable-Shady Caller TB) under José Manuel Cisneros for Cuadra Quinta Marian and trainer Rigoberto Vega López.
The other positions were ordered as such: Mexican Perfection TB (Majesticperfection– Krusin Kelly), Borneo TB (More Than Regal– Farcetta), Gallo Malvado QH (Just An Old Sayin–Separate Ticket), DNA Dales Prospect QH (Coronas Prospect–Chrystal Dale), Pikudo TB (Gemologist–Southern Protocol) and Marinera TB (Albertus Maximus–Miss Reve).
