Can you identify the winning horse (#5) in this photo? Here’s a hint: She was named World Champion in 1978 at the age of three. The answer is on page 188.
Mail arrived today as I was finishing a late breakfast. The Speedhorse Stallion Register had arrived. It was beautiful with one of my favorite horses, FDD Dynasty, on the cover.
I opened it to the “Our Cover” article about the horse. Wonderful article that went right with the beautiful cover. Recently I went to Bob Moore Farms to see him for the first time. He was everything I had expected. I own a share in the horse, so have several of his foals at home or in training. I wanted to see him because, like others, I sometimes think about getting out of the business. Last fall, I was thinking about that as I was reg- istering the babies. I got to the black filly by him to do markings and take pictures of her. Needless to say, I was moved by her. I walked back to the house and finished her papers and added the name for her. It reflected my decision. I named her Reason To Stay In.
