Bully Pulpit has done all his racing at Remington thus far. Fourth in a maiden race on March 19, he captured the $104,720 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity-G1 wire-to- wire on April 29.
The Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Futurity-G1 is the first leg of the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown, and Bully Pulpit’s team will be pointing him toward the other two legs of the series. Tbe second leg will be held at Fair Meadows in July and then the third leg is contested at Lone Star Park in October.
Chuck Bowlan bred Bully Pulpit in Oklahoma from winner Judys Apollo. Dan and Kaye bought Bully Pulpit from Bowlan as a weanling. Judys Apollo has produced two start- ers, both winners. Bully Pulpit’s third dam, Champion Judys Chick, has produced Judys Lineage, a Champion and a million-dollar Paint sire.
Shirley Wheeler’s homebred Hotwiredotcom APHA (CRM Livewire- Iwilliewantarunner QH) got second by a neck under jockey Larry Payne. Guillermo Valdivia trains the gelding, who won the $117,400 Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1.
Valdivia also trains third-place finisher Dashin Turnpike APHA (Streak And Dash QH-Flashy Turnpike). Paul Nieto rode the gelding for owner Tommy Davenport. Dashin Turnpike won the $21,746 Victoria Ennis Memorial Paint & Appaloosa Handicap wire- to-wire at Remington Park in April.

Hang Ten APHA (Duke Kahanamoku QH-Snowdacious) finished fourth and was followed by Ojo Por Ojo ApHC (Cartell Success QH-Boppin Js Fastball), PHQ Goodbye Larry APHA (The Dashing
Hero-Sayonara), I Like It Alota APHA (Lota PYC QH-Shawne Wind), and Crosswired APHA (CRM Livewire-No Pokey Okey QH). Heza Soul On Fire ApHC and Jes A Bug APHA were scratched.
