MOVIN THE DOE
by Danny Camp
Movin The Doe was the wire-to-wire winner in the Bitterroot Derby at Sandy Downs on June 24. The gelding came into the race after winning his
heat with the second fastest qualifying time from the June 10 trials.
Movin The Doe stepped away from the 6-post in the Bitterroot Derby on top and was 1/2-length in front at the stretch. With jockey Jesus Valenzuela aboard, they increased their lead, crossing the line 3/4-length in front to stop the timer at :19.670 for the 400-yards, earning a career best 99 speed index.
Including first place check of $9,852, the sor-
rel gelding can now brag about a bankroll worth $65,306. He has won his last three outs from four starts for owner/trainer Luis Gonzales. Movin The Doe also won the 2016 AQRA President’s Open Fall Futurity and was second in that year’s Western States Breeders’ Futurity.
Movin The Doe was bred in Utah by Steve Berry out of lightly raced Bundle Doe. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters, including stakes winner Gunnin For Doe. Two-time stakes winner Movin The Doe is her top earner.

Northern Plains Futurity
MISS VALS EASY CASH
by Dillon Hamilton
Miss Vals Easy Cash bagged her first stakes vic- tory in the $17,729 Northern Plains Futurity Stakes at Chippewa Downs on June 25.
The sorrel filly stepped into the five-gate over a good track and with good skies overhead.
Miss Vals Easy Cash led from the gate under jockey Damon Leeds.
The pair gained an early neck length lead on their rivals at the first call, but decided a neck wouldn’t be enough.
Miss Vals Easy Cash and Leeds pushed ahead and held a 1/2-length advantage at the top of the stretch, and the margin was enough to see them through at the wire.
The wire-to-wire win is the sorrel filly’s first stakes victory.
Miss Vals Easy Cash traveled the 350-yard track for the Northern Plains Futurity in :19.54.
Miss Vals Easy Cash’s winner’s share of the purse totaled a healthy $8,865 for owner John Bubel and trainer Terry Davis.
Miss Vals Easy Cash now has lifetime earnings totaling $9,610.
The filly previously finished fourth in her trial
to the North Dakota Grass Roots Futurity on July 17, also at Chippewa Downs. In her first start, a 350- yard allowance at Chippewa Downs, Miss Vals Easy Cash came in second.
Rider Leeds has been aboard the filly in all of her starts.
John Bubel bred Miss Vals Easy Cash out of five- time winner Miss Salty Val in North Dakota. The mare earned $42,873 on the track.
As a broodmare, Miss Salty Val has produced 100% money earners from her first three starters. Miss Vals Easy Cash is her first stakes winner as well as her top earner.
Special Red Charmer (Mr Special Colors-Credits Lucky Charms) dueled under jockey Terry Bennett and finished second for owner Diane L. Carpentier and trainer Sheila Bennett.

NDQHRA Maturity
SWEET EASY CASH
by Dillon Hamilton
Betting favorite, Sweet Easy Cash claimed his first stakes victory in the $15,095 NDQHRA Maturity Stakes for four-year old and older horses at
Chippewa Downs on June 25.
The nine-year-old chestnut gelding finally found
blacktype in his seventh racing season.
Sweet Easy Cash stepped into the gate in the
seven-post as the favorite and he ran like it, not disapointing the race goers.
The gelding broke from the gate on the lead and did not relinquished any precious ground under jockey Jeremy Herman.
The pair held off all competitors the entire length of the track, never leading by more than a neck at any point of the race.
Sweet Easy Cash and Jeremy Herman battled for the narrow wire-to-wire victory, winning the contest by a neck. They galloped over the 350-yard fast track in :18.240, earning a speed index of 88.
Sweet Easy Cash took home the $6,340 winner’s share of the purse for owner Dennis Halvorson and trainer Leo J. Herman.
The hard-knocking gelding’s lifetime earnings now total $56,783 and his race record is 19(1)-7-16(1) from 53 career starts.

John Bubel bred Sweet Easy Cash out of lightly raced Sweeter Then Rime. The winning mare has produced 100% money earners from her five starters, including graded stakes finalist Dean Wicked. Sweet Easy Cash is the first stakes winner of the brood.
Winning Script (Free Company-Winners
Script) dueled for second place under jockey Marcus Delorme and finished a neck behind the winner. The four-year-old black gelding fought hard for his share of the purse for owner Steve Leonard and trainer Cole Wilson.
Chicks Skidoo (Torrid Tango-Pals Dashin Chick) gave good effort and finished third under jockey Ricardo Martinez. The nine-year-old sorrel mare came in third place for owner Larris Delorme and trainer Leo Delorme.
No Such Tellin (Such Easy Cash-No Tellin Darlin), Ss Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Shakem Sis), Dynasty Time (Fdd Dynasty-Royal Wild Time) and Jennas Easy Eagle (Such Easy Cash-Jennas Birthday) completed the order of finish.
